Somehow the source (originally in Framemaker, I believe) got misplaced over the years. There is only a pdf in the doc/ directory. I believe there are tools that can convert a pdf reasonably well into a Word document or other editable format. We should do that so the manual can be updated to reflect modernization of the code.
