OpenAMRobot v0.0.1

For the pending navigation release-install gate, see pinned installation and troubleshooting. This candidate validation does not change the historical v0.0.1 release.

The first public release of the OpenAMRobot platform.

This release is a frozen snapshot of the OpenAMRobot ecosystem, containing all repositories required to study, build, modify, reproduce, and extend the platform.

How releases work

This repository is the ground truth for OpenAMRobot releases. Each release is a GitHub release here with an immutable source archive of every component repository, a MANIFEST.json that records the exact commit and archive checksum of each component, and checksums.sha256 for every file. A published release is never edited; a correction is a new release.

Component repositories carry a tag with the same version (for example v0.0.1) on the commit that MANIFEST.json records. These tags are for navigation only: they let you open a component at its release state directly. If a component tag and this repository's archive ever disagree, the archive is authoritative.

Development continues on main in every component repository. main is never a release.

Versions

Version Date Content
v0.0.1 11 July 2026 First public platform release: the existing robot (Raspberry Pi 5, Teensy 4.0 with the linorobot2 overlay, RPLIDAR A1).
v2.0.0-rc.1 20 November 2026 (planned) OpenAMRobot 2.0 pre-release: full readiness, frozen platform baseline. Published as a GitHub pre-release.
v2.0.0 18 December 2026 (planned) OpenAMRobot 2.0 final release, after physical integration, testing and acceptance.

Note on v0.0.1 component tags: the v0.0.1 tags in the component repositories were added on 6 October 2026, after the release. Each points to the commit recorded in the v0.0.1 MANIFEST.json, and the tagged content was verified byte-identical to the archive. In openamr-platform-fw the released commit is 2be927c; its firmware is an overlay on linorobot2_hardware (branch jazzy, base aaf9d59, confirmation tracked in openamr-platform-fw #13).

Why a Custom Release Archive?

OpenAMRobot is developed across multiple repositories covering hardware, software, firmware, the user interface, shared interfaces, communication, and documentation.

GitHub's automatically generated source archives contain only this release-builder repository. They do not contain the complete OpenAMRobot platform.

The official product-level release is therefore:

OpenAMRobot-v0.0.1-source.zip https://github.com/openAMRobot/openamrobot-release/releases/tag/v0.0.1

This archive combines the participating repositories into one frozen, versioned package for offline preservation, development, manufacturing, research, and education.
