What changed
The ChatGPT launch-button tooltip now derives its displayed date dynamically
from the installed executable's local package/update timestamp, so new ChatGPT
versions do not require another hardcoded version/date mapping. The existing
ChatGPT button behavior remains unchanged and was re-tested after an applet
restart: it brings a minimized ChatGPT window to the foreground. Patch metadata,
changelog, README version information and regression coverage are updated for
v0.3.4.
Security and privacy impact
No change to authentication, subprocess execution, analytics data, local
settings, or screenshots. The applet still reads the installed application
version locally and does not access credentials.
Verification
make verifyshowed the current installed ChatGPT version with its dynamically derived
local date.
