The very first release of Universal Chat Exporter (U-chex) is launched! This extension is designed to give you full ownership of your AI conversations by saving them as beautiful, standalone HTML files with a single click. Everything runs locally in your browser for maximum privacy.

Note: For platforms with complex layouts (like Poe), the generic parser may cause some content duplication. Future updates will refine this.

🛠️ Technical Details

This extension is built with a privacy-first, minimalist philosophy:

  • Permissions: Uses only activeTab and scripting permissions, activated solely when you click the icon.
  • Architecture: No background pages, no remote calls. The core logic (content.js) is injected on-demand to extract and format content.
  • Template: A unified HTML template ensures consistent, readable output across all platforms.

📥 How to Install & Use

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions
  2. Enable Developer mode (toggle in top-right corner) 🛠️
  3. Click Load unpacked and select this project folder 📂
  4. (Optional) Pin the extension icon to your toolbar for quick access 📌
  5. Open your chat page and keep it active
  6. Click the icon of U-chex, and click Export Chat

Your conversations belong to you. With U-chex, it's finally simple and secure your chats.
