…o sky under close-ups - Every in-game subtitle without a recorded take is spoken in the character's voice: the TV asks the server's new /speak endpoint (validated text and voice, 302 to the cached clip). Text stays on screen. - Edge TTS: msedge-tts 2.1.0 (Edge began rejecting 2.0.9 with HTTP 403). - Evidence journal after the journal reference: an open case book with a photo per clue (painted close-ups), sealed slots, the focused clue read on the left page. - Puzzles sit on a detective's desk (procedural stand-in until painted art). - Speech bubble: name plaque, top-left so it never covers narration, the inspect panel or the action bar. - Phone: painted portraits in the Question tab (served from /portraits/), the rainy-street backdrop, evidence as pinned paper slips, parchment replies. Server serves .jpg. - The Last Train: dark ground under the platform edge so close-ups of low objects (ticket, carriage plan) never show sky. - Lighter rain and steam (fewer animated views per frame). - README: Mermaid charts simplified so GitHub renders them.
