Ukrainian CVC Phonemizer

English | Українська

Custom Ukrainian Phonemizer for OpenUtau meant primarily for voicebanks recorded with phi_pea's CVC reclist with potential support for other formats, as long as they use this phonetic system.

Compatibility Format
Compatible CVC
Potentially compatible CVVC, CV
Incompatible VCV, C+V

How to install

Just download the .dll file and drag it into OpenUtau's window and press OK for the popup.

How to use

Click the DEFAULT text near the voicebank name and go to "More ...". The phonemizer should show up under the UK section.

Usage is similar to many other OpenUtau phonemizers:

  • Type words in Ukrainian into the notes (like "привіт"), words in Ukrainian followed by square brackets with phonemes, aka a phonetic hint ("привіт[p r y v i t]"), or just the phonetic hint ("[p r y v i t]")
  • Break up multisyllable words into multiple notes with a "+"
  • Extend a syllable over multiple notes with "+*" or "+~"

Possible issues & fixes

Phonemizer doesn't show up in the list.

Close and open the program again. It should show up under the UK section.

I selected it, but it doesn't work

  1. Make sure your OU is at least version v0.1.568.0. If needed, either enable Beta in Preferences or download it manually from OpenUtau's GitHub.
  2. If some aliases do show up, but not all or wrong ones, the issue is most likely voicebank compatibility. First try converting it to the aforementioned phonetic system by batch replacing aliases using your preferred oto editor. If still doesn't work, then the problem is most likely that phonemizer doesn't cover your voicebank format of choice and could possibly be fixed in a future update. Or not.
