[Feature]: Keyboard shortcuts to change next and previous navigation #4382

Description

Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I am describing a concrete problem or use case, not just a vague idea.

Area

apps/desktop

Problem or use case

Currently, next and previous navigation actions can only be done with Up Arrow and Down Arrow (e.g. File Picker, Project Picker).

Proposed solution

Have new keybindings commands to change next and previous navigation actions. For example: ctrl + p (up), ctrl + n (down).

Why this matters

Muscle memory when coming from Vim, OpenCode, Codex or Zed.

Smallest useful scope

Add a setting for enabling ctrl + p (up), ctrl + n (down). Avoid conflicting with the current ctrl + n for new chat.

Alternatives considered

No response

Risks or tradeoffs

Conflicts with default keybindings.

Examples or references

Codex, Zed and OpenCode when using the file picker or other pickers.

Contribution

  • I would be open to helping implement this.
