About

A mev-commit bidder bot that integrates with a separate bidder node in a single docker compose setup.

Requirements

• Docker compose compatible machine
• Keystore address funded on both L1 and the mev-commit chain (mainnet and holesky supported)
• Various RPC endpoints etc. as specified below

To run

docker compose up -d --build from the root directory with a properly populated .env file. See env.example.

Cron job bidder health monitor

The following assumes the cron job will be run from the root user.

Ensure docker compose is installed for the root user:

sudo docker compose version

Should return something like Docker Compose version v2.24.7.

Edit PRECONF_BOT_DIR in bidder-health-monitor.sh to the absolute path of the preconf_bot directory on your machine.

Create log file:

sudo touch /var/log/bidder-health-monitor.log
sudo chmod 644 /var/log/bidder-health-monitor.log
sudo chown root:root /var/log/bidder-health-monitor.log

Copy bidder-health-monitor.sh to /usr/local/bin/bidder-health-monitor.sh and make it executable:

sudo cp bidder-health-monitor.sh /usr/local/bin/bidder-health-monitor.sh
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/bidder-health-monitor.sh

Add the following to root's crontab (edit with sudo crontab -e):

*/1 * * * * /usr/local/bin/bidder-health-monitor.sh >> /var/log/bidder-health-monitor.log 2>&1

This will check the bidder's health every 1 minute and restart it if unhealthy. Monitor the logs with:

tail -f /var/log/bidder-health-monitor.log
