Docker image build fails: Dockerfile uses golang:1.24.0-alpine, but go.mod requires Go 1.25.0 #767
The next release will not publish a Docker image. The Dockerfile builds with golang:1.24.0-alpine, but go.mod on dev requires Go 1.25.0, so the build fails at go mod download. The official golang images set GOTOOLCHAIN=local, so Go does not download the newer toolchain that go.mod requires.
The v0.0.16 image on Docker Hub is current; this affects the next release.
Expected Behavior:
The Dockerfile builds the code on dev, so the next release publishes an image.
Steps To Reproduce:
Run the Dockerfile's go mod download step from the repository root:
$ docker run --rm -v "$PWD":/app -w /app golang:1.24.0-alpine go mod downloadgo: go.mod requires go >= 1.25.0 (running go 1.24.0; GOTOOLCHAIN=local)
Anything else:
Publishing the image with GoReleaser, proposed in #766, fixes this: the image then copies the release binary instead of compiling it.

build: publish Docker images with GoReleaser (#768)
