Orca slicer and qidi box

How do I print from slot 2 in the Qidi box when using a single color print and Orca as the slicer?

Would be really helpful if someone could point me in the right direction so I dont have to keep switching the selected filament to slot 1.

Is the Plus 4 community already dead, or is it just impossible to use the qidi box in combination with Orca slicer?

Not sure on the community but as of right now yes, the box doesn't work with orca, it that way with a lot of the printer that are used MMUs... I even reached out on the plus 4 community discord about that and got nothing back....

That's disappointing. I also reached out to Qidi, but other than saying that they might work with Orca in the future to make it happen, they were not very helpfull at all.

I doubt they will, they don't even want to make their QiDi Studio any better

If you are still wondering how to do it:

1. You still need to add all four spools to OrcaSlicer.
2. Than in the Process section switch from Global to Object
3. There you can set the print object to slot 2

No problem, also for all people in the future wanting to get the Qidi-Box to work with Orca-Slicer. It isn't mentioned in the main page there two method:

I tried both method and got it to work with the first one. The second one may also work.
It's also important to check the saved_variable.cfg and look for the enable_box line. This variable needs to be set to 1
enable_box = 1
If it is any other value, the box is deactivated and the print gets canceled with "filament run out". As the box doesn't pull back the old filament and insert the new one. (cost me quite some time in figuring out why it won't work, even if the console commands worked)

I don't know what I am doing wrong.
First time I tried this way it worked, but I made a mistake and did not connect the box's tube. After that It never worked again and I keep getting error "!! The value 'slot-1' is not valid for SLOT" even when I send the file from Orca slicer again. I did go to the saved_variable.cfg and saved it with "enable_box=1"

I think I am going mad.
