Overview

News Reader presents current headlines in a lightweight Android interface. A tabbed ViewPager separates the feed into home, science, health, sports, and entertainment sections; Retrofit retrieves articles, Glide handles remote images, and an in-app WebView opens the complete story.

Local setup

Requirements

• Android Studio with an Android SDK compatible with compile SDK 30
• A free NewsAPI API key

Configure and run

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/rahultripathi17/news-reader-android.git

2. Add your API key to the untracked local.properties file:

   NEWS_API_KEY=your_newsapi_key

3. Open the project in Android Studio, sync Gradle, and run the app configuration.

The API key is injected into BuildConfig during the build and is not stored in the repository.
