A modified Electron-based exam browser for Windows (Exambro Mod / Safe Exam Browser Mod) that mimics Safe Exam Browser (SEB) while providing additional capabilities. Built for educational environments.

📋 Requirements

Before you begin, make sure the following are installed on your Windows machine:

• Node.js (v18 or later) → Download here
• Ollama (for local AI assistant) → Download here
• Git → Download here

🚀 Installation & Setup

Step 1 — Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/raihan748/exambro-mod-.git
cd exambro-mod-

Step 2 — Install Dependencies

npm install

Step 3 — Set Up the AI Model (Ollama)

Pull the required AI model:

ollama pull qwen2.5:7b

Then create the custom exam-god model:

ollama create exam-god -f Modelfile

⚠️ Make sure Ollama is running in the background before launching the app.

▶️ Running the Application

Normal Launch (Development Mode)

npm start

The application window will open. You will see the splash screen with the SEB loading animation.

Build as Portable .exe (Optional)

To generate a standalone Windows executable:

npm run build-exe

The output .exe file will be placed inside the /dist folder.

🖥️ How to Use

1. Launch the app using npm start or run the .exe from /dist.
2. On the main window, enter the URL of your exam/Moodle server in the address bar.
3. Press Enter or click "Launch Exam" to open the exam in a secure, fullscreen mode.
4. The AI Assistant Panel will appear as a floating overlay — press the hotkey shown on screen to toggle it.
5. To exit fullscreen/lockdown, use the designated quit shortcut (configured in your .seb file or default key).

🤖 AI Assistant Features

The built-in AI assistant supports:

• Local Mode (Ollama): Uses qwen2.5:7b or exam-god model running locally on your machine. No internet required.
• Cloud Mode (Groq): Enter your Groq API key inside the AI panel settings for faster cloud-based responses.

To switch AI engine: Open the AI panel → click the settings icon → choose your preferred engine.
