AlacarteToGeMS error

I have tried to use the AlacarteToGeMS tool to convert the Mesquite Lake dataset to GeMS. However, the tool is failing to execute the task.
Below are the screenshots with the information entered and the message it returned:

Ran with these inputs from my on-campus desktop:

I ran it on my laptop from home while connected to VPN and it worked too (in a quarter of the time...)

Ran when not connected to VPN... Thinking now that it is related to the current version of the GeMS toolbox - I am using my own version, which is also on github but is now way out of date with regards to the master

likely related to a dash in the Name of the metadata tool:

Not sure about this one but almost certainly related to the alias of the toolbox...

I did tests that should duplicate the tests that Ryan did running the scripts from his on-campus computer, and from his laptop while logged onto VPN and accessing files in OneDrive. In both cases I got the same error. See snapshots inputs and error below. Not sure why it works for Ryan and not for me...
