An educational web resource for understanding needle gauges, lengths, and injection techniques used in hormone replacement therapy.
Live site: https://remixmb.github.io/gauage-it-right/
Educational use only. This site is not medical advice and is not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare provider. Always consult your provider for guidance specific to your prescription, anatomy, and history. If you don't have a provider, the Resources page lists harm-reduction and gender-affirming-care directories.
- Needle Basics — interactive gauge slider, side-by-side bar visualization, and length comparisons (SubQ vs. IM standard vs. IM long).
- Gauge Selector — pick your purpose (drawing / IM / SubQ) and medication (estrogen / testosterone) and get a gauge recommendation grounded in common practice.
- Estrogen & Testosterone guides — overview of typical injection workflows.
- Resources — curated links to Planned Parenthood, WPATH, Trans Law Center, UCSF Trans Care, CDC injection safety, and community support.
- People newly prescribed injectable HRT who want to understand the equipment their pharmacy hands them.
- Peers and chosen family supporting someone through self-injection.
- Educators looking for a free, plain-language reference.
Plain HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript (ES modules). No framework, no build, no tracking. Deploys to GitHub Pages from main/root.
Issues and PRs are welcome — especially:
- Corrections from clinicians or pharmacists
- Translations
- Accessibility improvements
See docs/CONTRIBUTING.md.
Yes, "gauage" is misspelled. Renaming would break the existing GitHub Pages URL that has been shared elsewhere, so the slug stays. Everything in the site itself spells gauge correctly.
