Innovative Technology Architect | Cloud, AI, and Hybrid Infrastructure
Azure Solutions Architect Expert | Azure AI Engineer Associate | Azure Data Scientist Associate | Marine Corps Veteran

I design practical, secure, and scalable technology systems that connect strategy to execution. My background spans public sector, private sector, and military environments, with more than 20 years of experience across systems administration, application modernization, cloud architecture, observability, governance, and AI-enabled solution design.

Today, my work centers on hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, SDLC modernization, platform governance, and responsible AI adoption. I focus on helping organizations move beyond one-time migration efforts into durable operating models that improve security, compliance, delivery speed, cost visibility, and long-term resilience.

I am especially interested in where modern architecture is headed next: agent-based workflows, adaptive human-in-the-loop systems, AI-assisted delivery, and the disciplined platform patterns required to make those capabilities useful in real environments.

What I work on

  • Cloud and hybrid architecture across Azure, AWS, GCP, and traditional enterprise infrastructure
  • AI platform strategy including governed experimentation, enterprise AI services, indexing, and applied ML workflows
  • Adaptive agent workflows with human-in-the-loop design for reliability, safety, and operational usefulness
  • SDLC modernization using policy-driven platforms, IaC, CI/CD, and delivery guardrails
  • Application observability and APM integration for performance, supportability, and operational maturity
  • Enterprise governance aligned to security, compliance, cost accountability, and scalable service delivery

Current focus

  • Building and maturing statewide cloud and AI capabilities in complex enterprise environments
  • Advancing software delivery standards and platform governance for custom application teams
  • Applying AI and workflow automation to practical business and operational use cases
  • Demonstrating modern architecture patterns through hands-on project work, prototypes, and structured technical documentation

Featured project work

ThisOrThatDesign

A working storefront and operations concept for a custom patch, hat, and branded goods business. The project is being used as a practical demo environment to show structured backlog planning, phased delivery, Shopify architecture decisions, and AI-assisted workflow thinking.

Core themes include:

  • docs-first project structure
  • phased roadmap execution
  • GitHub Projects planning
  • architecture tradeoff analysis
  • custom order workflow design
  • future AI-assisted design and studio concepts

Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals

Background

My path started in military communications and tactical systems, expanded into enterprise operations and application support, and evolved into architecture leadership across modernization, governance, and cloud transformation. I value systems that are not only technically sound, but supportable, explainable, and aligned to the people who depend on them.

Philosophy

I believe strong architecture should do three things well:

  1. make complex systems easier to operate
  2. create room for innovation without losing control
  3. keep humans meaningfully involved where judgment matters most

Outside of work

Beyond architecture, I am a builder and tinkerer at heart. My interests include CAD, CNC, 3D printing, fabrication workflows, and turning ideas into usable systems and physical prototypes.
