Problems when I use API

Have created an API, but it wont fetch any data. If I try the free version through ESPN everything is ok. Tried ask dashboard.api-football and everything is ok at their side. They also have a test site for my API - and its no problem.

Could you check if there are some troubles from HA to them?

Thanks for the report. A quick pointer on how this integration talks to API-Football, which usually explains "the key is fine on their side but no data in HA":

The integration only uses the direct API-Sports endpoint — https://v3.football.api-sports.io with the x-apisports-key header. It does not support the RapidAPI variant.

So the two most common causes are:

1. The key is a RapidAPI key rather than a direct one. A key created via RapidAPI (rapidapi.com) authenticates with x-rapidapi-key against api-football-v1.p.rapidapi.com and will not work against v3.football.api-sports.io. If that's the case, create a key on the direct dashboard instead: https://dashboard.api-football.com → Account → API key.

2. The free plan doesn't cover the season you configured. On the free tier, historical seasons (roughly 2021–2023) are available but the current season for the big leagues is not. A valid key + a current-season competition then returns no data with no hard error — which matches "won't fetch any data" while your test call (on an allowed season/league) works fine.

To narrow it down, could you share:

• The relevant lines from Settings → System → Logs around a refresh (look for custom_components.soccer_live — e.g. API-Football returned an error … or no data received from API-Football).
• Which competition and season you configured the team/competition from.
• Where the key was created — dashboard.api-football.com (direct) or RapidAPI.

With those we can tell immediately whether it's the key type, plan coverage, or something HA-side.
