Summary

  • let the Release workflow create the umbrella GitHub Release and tag through the GitHub API
  • update the rolling major tag through the API instead of local Git pushes
  • add an idempotent workflow-dispatch recovery path
  • copy the Changesets Basic release notes into the umbrella release

Why

The package versions were published successfully, but the workflow only created package-specific releases. Its local Git push for the umbrella tag also failed when the release commit contained workflow changes.

Validation

  • actionlint .github/workflows/release.yml
  • shell syntax validation for the reconciliation step
  • focused cspell check
  • repository pre-push gate
