Section 2.5 "Container nodes" could be replaced by subsection 2.5.1 "Glyph: Compartment" since it is stated that it is the only container node in AF, and it is accordingly the only subsection. However it might not be clear whether the submap is not also a container node (see PD issue #273).

I think 2.5.1 "Glyph: Compartment" should stay as a subsection since all glyphs are under a section. Maybe we can find a better section name (PD uses "Defined sets of entity pool nodes" so "Defined sets of activity nodes" can be an option for consistency)

As stated in the PD issue sbgn/process-descriptions#273, AF spec also needs clarification of the terms used to describe containers (compartments, submaps). Let's leave this clarification to the major releases of both specs and hope the editors update both specs in a compatible way.

For now, to avoid any such categorization, I replaced section 2.5 "Container nodes" by subsection 2.5.1 "Glyph: Compartment" as the issue title suggests. I also left Glyph: Submap as the section title, as in AF spec L1V1.2. Currently, Section 3.3.2 mentions compartment as the only glyph that allows containment, but this may change depending on the changes in the major release.
