The feature request

A way to be able to copy-paste the auth token from the site into the app, without the browser redirection, or some other 2-factor authentication method in the app itself, wthout the browser redirection

Proposed solution

If you use Github desktop in a linux desktop without a native Github desktop repo, the site tries to redirect using gnome-software and the app will not be there, making it impossible to login in the app. With the proposed feature, one can do it
