This PR fixes an issue in Chapter_06.ipynb where the final classifier layer of the VGG11 model is intended to be modified to output 10 classes, but the current code does not actually change the layer’s dimensionality.
The code:
fine_tuned_vgg_model.classifier[-1].out_features = 10In PyTorch this (or later reinitialize of the weights) does not resize the nn.Linear layer. The underlying weight matrix and bias remain sized for 1000 outputs, so the model still produces 1000 logits despite the accompanying comment stating otherwise.
The fix:
fine_tuned_vgg_model.classifier[-1] = nn.Linear(fine_tuned_vgg_model.classifier[-1].in_features, 10)
