TongDou is a small desktop robot that has already been physically built and run. It is not a concept project.
This repository is the official public project showcase and phased open-source entry point for TongDou.

This repository currently includes:
- Project overview
- Schematic PDF files
- Real product photos and videos, when available
- Open-source release plan
- License and notice files
Current schematic PDFs:
Media folders:
Current public video:
If a media folder only contains a README file, real media for that category has not been added to this public repository yet.
This repository does not currently provide:
- Editable PCB source files
- Gerber files
- BOM files
- PNP, CPL, or pick-and-place files
- Complete mechanical files
- Soldering fixtures
- Firmware
- Official audio files
- Complete manufacturing or assembly tutorials
- Cost, supply-chain, or purchasing lists
These materials are not permanently closed. The plan is to review and release more materials in phases after crowdfunding is completed and the first production batch has been delivered.
No specific open-source release date is promised at this stage.
TongDou is a real hardware product, not only a document package. Some files can be used to directly manufacture, clone, or misrepresent the product before the first official release is ready.
For this stage, the public repository is intentionally limited to project presentation, schematic-level reference, real media, licensing boundaries, and the future open-source path.
The root LICENSE file contains the CERN Open Hardware Licence Version 2 - Permissive, also known as CERN-OHL-P-2.0.
At the current stage, that license only applies to schematic PDF files in this repository that are explicitly marked as open hardware materials.
Photos, videos, README content, website content, the TongDou name, logo, character identity, official audio, promotional materials, packaging, firmware, PCB source files, Gerber files, BOM files, PNP files, mechanical files, and fixtures are not included in the open hardware license unless a future release clearly says otherwise.
See NOTICE.md for the exact boundary.
Third-party products must not be presented as official TongDou products.
Third parties must not claim official TongDou certification, approval, endorsement, or crowdfunding participation unless that status is announced through the official website.
Official TongDou products and crowdfunding campaigns will only be announced through https://gettongdou.com
