I know this is draft, but I wonder if it is feasible to move most of the new code to sparkles checks. With STK ephemeris being an option, these checks should be runnable by the FOT in planning. This will front load visibility to bright object problems and single-source the code to sparkles. This is part of the general effort to migrate starcheck checks out of starcheck. 😄 |

Ok. I was working from the idea that you'd already decided that doing the planet checks on the FOT side was too slow (hence the "Jupiter in the target name" business) but can review. |
