Cassette Motion Pro

Cassette Motion Pro is professional bike fitting software built on the Kinovea video analysis engine. The project keeps bike-fit-specific code and branding isolated so upstream Kinovea updates can be incorporated with minimal changes to the playback and annotation engine.

Current milestone: 1.11.8 Tape-Assisted Handlebar Coordinates

Advanced Bike Measurements now accepts the practical tape measurement from the saddle tip to the handlebar center. Cassette Motion Pro preserves the bar direction from the image, scales that vector to the tape length, and combines it with the saddle-tip position to report Handlebar X/Y from the bottom-bracket center. Results are explicitly labeled BB reference + tape length + image direction, so the single tape measurement improves the coordinates without pretending both axes were independently tape-measured.

Use the v1.11.8 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.11.7 Reliable Vertical Calibration Action

Calibrate Vertical Scale now works after either Dual-wheel Perspective or Quick Bike Reference calibration. The action becomes available as soon as a wheelbase-based calibration and all required bike landmarks are complete, with clearer instructions if either prerequisite is missing. Saddle-tip-to-handlebar-center tape distance remains a separate straight-line measurement; it is not misrepresented as independent Handlebar X and Y coordinates.

Use the v1.11.7 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.11.6 Tape-Calibrated Vertical Scale

After placing the bottom-bracket and saddle-top landmarks, the fitter can enter one tape-verified saddle height and click Calibrate Vertical Scale. Cassette Motion Pro locks the resulting vertical correction to the current camera setup and continues using it while landmarks are adjusted. The saved measurement records the correction factor and distinguishes tape-calibrated results from uncorrected wheelbase-only estimates.

Use the v1.11.6 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.11.5 Wheelbase-Only Saddle Height

Saddle height no longer depends on outside tire diameter. After leveling the rear-to-front axle line, Guided Bike Measurements uses the tape-measured wheelbase as one uniform scale for both image axes. A 700c bike can leave the wheel preset at 700; different tire widths and pressures no longer change the saddle-height result.

Use the v1.11.5 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.11.4 Hybrid Bike Measurement Correction

Dual-wheel calibration now calculates saddle height with a stable wheel-based horizontal and vertical scale instead of extrapolating the perspective transform above the wheels. The vertical scale is interpolated between the measured rear and front tire radii at the saddle location. Saddle-to-hood reach now clearly identifies the camera result as an estimate and the optional tape entry as the preferred verified report value.

Use the v1.11.4 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.11.3 Direction-Aware Wheel Calibration

Guided Bike Measurements now interprets screen-left and screen-right tire edges correctly whether the bicycle faces left or right. A wheel-fit residual above 25 mm blocks calibration instead of allowing unreliable measurements to continue. The axle-centered guides, stable transform safeguards, live magnifier, locked calibration, and realistic expected precision remain included.

Use the v1.11.0 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.10.0 Board-Free Bike Calibration

Guided Bike Measurements now offers two calibration choices. The recommended Bike Reference method needs no board: enter the physically measured wheelbase and outside tire diameter, then click rear axle, front axle, tire top, and tire bottom. Cassette Motion Pro calculates separate horizontal and vertical scales, automatically levels the image from the axle line, and reports the X/Y scale disagreement as an alignment warning. The existing Known Reference / Board method remains available.

Use the v1.10.0 test plan for the previous calibration checks.

Previous milestone: 1.9.4 Saddle-to-Hood Reach and Simpler Review

Guided Bike Measurements now identifies the correct saddle-to-hood endpoint as the top of the rubber hood where the rider's palm rests, not the brake lever. For angled camera views, an optional physical tape value can override the image calculation and its source is recorded with the saved evidence. Measurement Review has also been simplified by removing the four numbered tracking/assistance/correction/approval panels; the Before/After measurement summary and essential actions remain.

Previous milestone: 1.9.3 Visible Handlebar Diameter Control

The handlebar reference and diameter controls now use a stable two-row layout, keeping the editable diameter visible on narrow laptop screens and at larger Windows display scaling.

Previous milestone: 1.9.2 Handlebar Center From Bar Edge

Advanced Bike Measurements can now use a directly clicked bar center, rear edge, or front edge. When an edge is selected, enter the handlebar clamp diameter—31.8 mm by default—and Cassette Motion Pro uses the front/rear wheel direction plus half the diameter to calculate the true bar center. The saved measurement trace records which reference and diameter were used.

Previous milestone: 1.9.1 Calibrated Bike Measurement Correction

Saddle Tip to Grip now uses the physical straight-line distance between the saddle nose and the grip/hood contact point. It no longer uses only the horizontal difference, which read short whenever the handlebar was lower than the saddle. Horizontal Handlebar Reach remains available as its own separate measurement.

Previous milestone: 1.9.0 Calibrated Bike Measurement Workspace

Guided Bike Measurements now use a five-step calibrated workflow: confirm a named camera profile, calibrate a known distance in the bike plane, verify that calibration against a second known distance, place bottom-bracket-centered bike landmarks, and review confidence before saving to Before or After. The workspace reports verification error as High, Moderate, or Review, warns when an ultra-wide N980P profile is selected, and carries the camera/calibration trace into the saved session evidence. Use the v1.9.0 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.8.0 Measurement Media Save Choices

Kinovea's Save Image and Save Video actions now offer dedicated Bike Before, Bike After, Rider Before, and Rider After measurement destinations alongside the normal report Before, After, Dual, and Regular Save choices. Measurement media remains separated inside the active client session and never replaces the main report media. Guided bike and rider measurement actions automatically use the newest image saved to their matching measurement folder. Use the v1.8.0 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.7.0 Measurement Quick Start

The Measurements page now begins with four unmistakable actions: Before Bike, After Bike, Before Rider, and After Rider. Each action automatically finds the matching saved client image, opens the correct guided tool, highlights the intended save side, and stores annotated evidence in separate Bike/Before, Bike/After, Rider/Before, and Rider/After session folders. Use the v1.7.0 test plan for the focused checks.

Previous milestone: 1.6.0 Fit-Day Field Testing Pass

The Fit Day dashboard now includes Run Field Test, a session-linked real-world checklist covering client setup, dual capture, playback, measurements, fit changes, report images, PDF/branding, delivery, and autosave/recovery. Each stage can be marked Pass, Friction, or Not Tested, with reproducible fitter observations saved inside the active client's Reports folder and on the session timeline. Use the v1.6.0 test plan during a complete fitting.

Previous milestone: 1.5.0 Client Report Experience

The Report stage now opens into one polished Client Report Center. Before, After, and side-by-side images are visible while they are selected; editable recommendation guidance, studio branding, fitter approval, PDF preview, and delivery choices follow the same top-to-bottom workflow. The generated client preview now explains exactly what to verify before using Print / Save PDF. Use the v1.5.0 test plan for the focused client-report checks.

Previous milestone: 1.4.0 Measurement Review Redesign

The Measurements stage now opens directly into a single Measurement Review Center. Four clear cards keep rider tracking, assisted bike/rider measurements, corrections and repeatability, confidence checks, and fitter approval together. A live Before/After table stays visible below the workflow cards, while the detailed Bike Metrics, Body Angles, and Report Builder editors remain one click away. Saved client-session images are selected automatically for Before and After measurement actions. Changing a measurement after approval clears that approval so the fitter knows a fresh review is required. Use the v1.4.0 test plan for the focused measurement checks.

Previous milestone: 1.3.0 Video Workspace Polish

The Video workspace now opens with a compact Video Fit Desk showing live readiness for the Before clip, After clip, and favorite-frame pair. Dual-camera Before capture, dual-camera After capture, and latest Before/After playback are the primary actions. Before and After favorite frames can be chosen directly without answering an extra side-selection prompt, and comparison approval remains one click away. Measurement actions now find the newest Before, After, or Dual image in the active fit session automatically, so a fitter does not need to browse back through the client folders. Camera profiles, folders, synchronization, evidence review, and native Kinovea capture/playback/drawing tools remain available lower in the workspace. Use the v1.3.0 test plan for the focused video checks.

Previous milestone: 1.2.0 Unified Workspace Simplification

The embedded fit workspace now uses the five fit-day stages as its only primary navigation. The duplicate full tab row is hidden, and small contextual choices appear only where they are needed: Setup / Files / History under Client and Review / Builder under Report. This keeps the client-first path visible, reduces navigation clutter on laptop screens, and leaves Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, measurement, and save behavior unchanged. Use the v1.2.0 test plan for the focused workflow checks.

Previous milestone: 1.1.0 Unified Visual Redesign

The unified fit-day shell now has a calmer Cassette Motion Pro visual system, clearer typography, softer cards and borders, and consistent primary actions. A persistent stage strip keeps Fit Day, Client, Video, Measurements, and Report within one click while retaining every existing Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, and saving tool. The compact laptop layout and optional persistent header remain supported. Use the v1.1.0 test plan for the focused laptop and fit-day checks.

Previous milestone: 1.0.0 Stable Unified Release

This release freezes the unified client-first fit-day workflow for production validation. GitHub Actions now verifies upgrade compatibility and recovery, executable and package versions, required camera/video files, drawing tools, the portable ZIP, available installer output, and SHA-256 release checksums. The final release gate includes a documented real fit-day validation on the studio’s actual Windows laptop and cameras.

Previous milestone: 0.96.0 Integrated Report Center

The persistent header’s Report button now opens one embedded report center where the fitter can edit client recommendations, choose Before/After/side-by-side images, review measurements and evidence, approve the report, preview it for Print / Save PDF, and prepare client delivery packages.

Use Hide Fit Header / Show Fit Header on the main toolbar whenever you want more room for video analysis. Toggling the header does not close the active client session or Fit Panel.

Previous milestone: 0.95.0 Integrated Measurements and Evidence

The embedded fit workspace now includes a single integrated review page for completed measurements, favorite Before/After frames, selected report images, saved evidence, and fitter approval. The persistent fit-day header includes a Review button that opens this page without leaving the main Kinovea window.

Previous milestone: 0.94.0 Persistent Fit-Day Header

The main Kinovea window now keeps the active client, fit session, Before/After video status, autosave state, and next recommended action visible throughout fit day—even while the embedded Fit Panel is hidden for capture or analysis. A single Do Next action reopens the workspace and continues the guided workflow.

Previous milestone: 0.93.0 Unified Layout Polish

  • The embedded workspace uses a shorter header and narrower session list, giving the selected fit stage more usable room on laptop screens.
  • Workspace pages and button rows scroll when space is limited, and embedded buttons receive larger minimum touch targets.
  • The persistent bottom bar is now stage-aware: normal stages show Save and Next Step; the Report stage shows Save Draft, Review, Preview, and report display options.
  • The Fit Day dashboard keeps Next Step, Resume, and Workflow Check visible. Diagnostics, Practice Mode, Getting Started, Timeline, and folder utilities move under More Options + Folders.
  • Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, and save controls are unchanged. Capture and analysis continue to collapse the fit panel automatically.

Previous milestone: 0.92.0 Unified Fit-Day Layout

  • The active client fit workspace is now hosted in a collapsible panel inside the main Cassette Motion Pro window instead of opening as a separate window.
  • Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, and measurement tools remain in the central video area. Starting capture or analysis collapses the fit panel automatically so the video area has room.
  • Use Show Fit Panel / Hide Fit Panel in the main toolbar or Video › in the panel header to move between fit details and the video surface without losing the active client or session.
  • The panel shows the active client/session and safely closes the current workspace before switching clients. If saving prevents a workspace from closing, the app keeps that workspace active.
  • This first unified layout intentionally reuses the existing fit workspace. Later visual passes can simplify individual workspace sections after this embedded flow is proven on fit-day hardware.

Previous milestone: 0.91.0 Integrated Client Selector

  • The Video Studio toolbar now includes a searchable client selector. Choose a client there to open or resume that client's fit workspace without navigating through the separate Client Manager.
  • The fit workspace stays open while Kinovea capture and playback are in use. Starting capture or analysis returns to Video Studio; Fit Workspace in the toolbar brings the same session back without closing it.
  • The active client and session appear in the toolbar. The full Client Manager remains available for advanced search, archival, and management; Kinovea's capture, playback, and drawing tools are unchanged.
  • This is the first integration pass, not a full workspace redesign. Test switching between clients with unsaved work carefully; a failed save must leave the original workspace open.

Previous milestone: 0.90.0 Production Readiness Release Candidate

  • Session manifests and fit-day autosaves now replace the previous file atomically and retain a last-known-good .bak copy. If the newest XML is damaged, opening the client or resuming recovery can read the backup. The backup is not a substitute for an off-device client-data backup.
  • The Windows build now runs a session-compatibility and recovery smoke check: an older minimal manifest, current saves, damaged-manifest fallback, autosave fallback, and recovery cleanup.
  • The Fit Day Dashboard has a Getting Started guide that points new fitters through intake, practice/diagnostics, Kinovea capture, measurement approval, and reporting.
  • This is a release candidate, not a claim that field testing is complete. Use the v0.90.0 test plan before treating it as a production release.

Previous milestone: 0.87.0 Faster Fit-Day Keyboard and Touch Controls

  • While the fit workspace is open: Ctrl+Shift+R opens dual live capture; Ctrl+Shift+P opens the latest Before/After videos for playback; Ctrl+Shift+F opens favorite-frame review; Ctrl+Shift+E prepares the active session's evidence destination and opens the Video Studio guide.
  • The Video Studio Save Image and Save Video destination dialogs now have larger touch-friendly buttons. Alt+B, Alt+A, Alt+D, and Alt+R choose Before, After, Dual, or Regular Save. The native Video Studio Save Image/Save Video controls still perform the actual capture/export.
  • Larger fit-command, video-workflow, and favorite-frame buttons make the main fit-day actions easier to use on touch screens.

Previous milestone: 0.86.0 Fit Session Timeline

  • Open Session Timeline from the Fit Day Dashboard to see recordings, report images, measurement updates, fit changes, approvals, and report activity in newest-first order.
  • New activity is recorded in the active client's session, including measurement edits and report milestones. Older sessions show reliable saved timestamps and file dates where available; undated past edits are not assigned invented times.
  • Timeline activity stays internal to the fit session and does not add clutter to the client-facing report.

Previous milestone: 0.85.0 Assisted Tracking Corrections

  • In short-clip tracking and pedal-cycle review, drag a drifting orange joint point, choose how many following checkpoints to affect, then click Carry Corrected Joint Forward.
  • Only that joint is re-tracked through the chosen checkpoints. Any affected approvals are cleared so the fitter must review those frames again before saving.
  • Returning to a checkpoint now restores its reviewed points instead of silently re-tracking and replacing them. The accepted tracking summary records the number of re-tracked checkpoints.

Previous milestone: 0.84.0 Measurement Repeatability Lab

  • In Measurements → Measurement Review, use Repeatability Lab to enter three independent placements of the same bike or rider landmark for Before or After.
  • The lab keeps the raw readings, mean, spread, and fitter-selected tolerance in the client session. It flags checks outside that tolerance for review, without changing the final measured value.
  • Only checks explicitly approved by the fitter appear in the report. Repeatability describes consistency, not absolute accuracy.

Previous milestone: 0.83.0 Fit-Day Readiness and Practice Mode

  • Practice Mode is available beside Fit-Day Diagnostics on the dashboard and can be used before a real fit session begins.
  • Dual test recordings are routed into isolated Camera 1 and Camera 2 app-data practice folders, never into any client's Before, After, or report evidence.
  • The newest two practice clips can be opened together in Kinovea playback to confirm camera assignment, framing, height, image quality, and usable video.
  • A readiness checklist covers client-folder access, recording storage, capture and playback connections, practice-folder writes, test clips, and calibration status.
  • Ready for Fit requires both test clips plus explicit camera and playback confirmation, and saves a timestamped readiness report for the next pre-fit check.
  • Clean Practice Files removes only the isolated practice recordings and readiness report after confirmation; real client-session media is never targeted.

Previous milestone: 0.82.0 Fit-Day Reliability Testing and Diagnostics

  • Fit-Day Diagnostics is available directly from the dashboard before or during a client session, without adding another permanent workspace tab.
  • Tests cover client/session folder access, Before/After/Dual capture destinations, report-image and analysis-evidence folders, and final report output access.
  • The center verifies autosave state, in-memory session save/recovery compatibility, Kinovea playback and live-capture connections, selected media files, report evidence, report approval, and available recording disk space.
  • Temporary write probes are removed immediately and never alter client evidence; expected session folders are created when missing so capture routing is ready.
  • Results are separated into PASS, WARN, and FAIL with plain-language next actions, and can be copied or saved as a timestamped troubleshooting report.
  • Workflow navigation now consistently opens Review & Deliver instead of the older Finalize Fit tab name.

Previous milestone: 0.81.0 Report Review, Approval, and Delivery Center

  • The former Finalize Fit page is now a focused Review & Deliver center for the last stage of the client-first workflow.
  • One checklist combines required fit-day evidence, report polish, measurement quality, session status, fitter approval, and the latest prepared delivery file.
  • Review + Approve opens a deliberate client-report quality gate covering report writing, selected evidence, final measurements, and privacy confirmation.
  • Approval is tied to the exact client-facing report content. Editing report text, measurements, images, or report options automatically requires a fresh approval.
  • Report package, ZIP, and client-portal delivery outputs require current fitter approval, while preview remains available for safe review and correction.
  • The session remembers the approval notes and the most recently prepared delivery format, path, and time without claiming that a file was sent externally.

Previous milestone: 0.80.0 Assisted Measurement Accuracy and Workflow

  • A new Assisted Accuracy Review brings bike measurements, rider angles, calibration, tracking quality, and short-clip evidence into one quality gate.
  • Every Before/After pair is checked for missing values, unreadable entries, broad plausibility ranges, and unusually large changes without altering fitter data.
  • A transparent workflow-quality score explains whether confidence is high, review is advised, or the session remains incomplete; it is not presented as a diagnosis.
  • The fitter must confirm Kinovea verification and acknowledge warnings before the review can be approved and saved to the client session.
  • Approval, review details, and optional fitter notes are included in the report so the measurement evidence has a clear professional review trail.
  • Kinovea playback, capture, drawing, and measurement tools remain the precision surface for checking landmarks and resolving every warning.

Previous milestone: 0.79.0 Session Media Library and Evidence Organization

  • Session Media Library gathers the active fit session's Before, After, and Dual videos, Analysis Captures, report images, and measurement references in one view.
  • Media can be filtered by video/image type, evidence role, or a filename/location search without browsing through the client folder tree.
  • Every item shows its role, source area, saved time, and file size, with an inline preview for images and clear handling for video clips.
  • A selected video can be sent directly back to Video Studio for full Kinovea playback, drawing, and measurement work.
  • A selected image can be assigned to Before, After, Dual, or Measurement Reference; the app copies it into the correct session folder and updates the report selection.
  • Open File and Open Folder remain available for direct evidence inspection, while the library itself does not delete or alter original captures.
  • The library is available from both Video Studio and Report Images so the fitter can organize evidence at the natural points in the client-first workflow.

Previous milestone: 0.78.0 Favorite-Frame Comparison and Approval

  • Compare + Approve Frames opens the chosen Before and After report images in a dedicated side-by-side review without leaving the active client fit session.
  • Either frame can be replaced inside the comparison window before approval.
  • An automatic shape and orientation check warns when the two frames may not share suitable framing, while the fitter still makes the final visual decision.
  • Approval requires confirmation that camera framing matches and that the selected rider and crank positions are useful for the report.
  • Optional Before and After frame notes are saved with the session and included in the client-ready report.
  • Approved source frames are copied into their correct session folders and a fresh Dual comparison image is created and enabled for the report automatically.
  • Original Video Studio captures remain unchanged, and all Kinovea playback, capture, drawing, measurement, and dual-camera tools remain available.

Previous milestone: 0.77.0 Faster Video Review and Favorite-Frame Selection

  • Video Studio now includes Review Favorite Frames for the active client fit session, with a clear Before or After choice.
  • Saved frames are gathered automatically from the session's Analysis Captures, report-image, and photo folders without another file-browsing step.
  • A large distraction-free review window supports quick previous/next navigation, a temporary favorites list, and direct selection of the best report frame.
  • Left/Right, Home/End, Space, and Enter shortcuts make frame review practical while standing beside the rider and bike.
  • The chosen frame is copied into the correct Before or After report folder, selected in the workspace, enabled for the report, and saved to the active fit session.
  • The newest 120 available images are reviewed in capture-time order to keep large fit-day folders responsive while preserving the original media.
  • Kinovea playback, capture, drawing, measurement, and dual-camera tools remain unchanged and available for the actual fit analysis.

Previous milestone: 0.76.0 Fit-Day Autosave and Crash Recovery

  • Fit-session changes are detected quietly and saved after a short pause, without interrupting Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, or report output.
  • The workspace header now shows a simple Saved, Unsaved changes, Saving, or Autosave needs attention status throughout the fitting.
  • Each successful save also creates an independent recovery point containing the active client session and the last workspace section used.
  • After an unexpected shutdown, the next workspace opening offers to restore that recovery point and return the fitter to the same part of the workflow.
  • Switching between fit sessions protects pending changes first, while a normal clean close saves once more and removes the no-longer-needed recovery point.
  • Recovery files stay inside the client's Sessions area and do not replace or alter the normal session record, videos, images, reports, or Kinovea tools.

Previous milestone: 0.75.0 Real Fit-Day Usability and Performance Pass

  • Workspace layout creation is now batched and double-buffered to reduce opening flicker and unnecessary repainting on fit-day laptops.
  • Loading an existing session suppresses repeated full workflow recalculations while its many fields are being populated, then performs one complete refresh at the end.
  • Analysis-capture evidence counts use a short cache so repeated readiness updates do not continuously rescan the client’s entire evidence folder tree.
  • A compact shortcut reminder remains visible in the header: Ctrl+S saves, F6 runs the current next-best step, and Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+5 move between the main fit areas.
  • Report generation, preview, regular packages, ZIP packages, and client portal packages now ignore accidental repeated clicks while an output is still being built.
  • A wait cursor and clear status message make longer report operations easier to understand without changing the underlying client files or workflow.
  • Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, measurement, and dual-camera tools remain unchanged and available throughout the fit.

Previous milestone: 0.74.0 Client Portal-Ready Report Package

  • Report Builder now includes Build Client Portal Package as a separate, deliberate client-delivery action.
  • A polished offline index page gives the client one simple starting point for the report, recommendations, and follow-up plan.
  • Approved report images, comparison evidence, and pedal-cycle trend charts are copied into a predictable Approved Media folder.
  • Client recommendations and follow-up instructions are exported as clear standalone files while fitter-only internal handoff notes remain excluded.
  • A readiness check warns about missing recommendations, follow-up guidance, or approved images while still leaving the final decision with the fitter.
  • Every package includes portal-friendly metadata with the package version, creation time, client/session identity, session date, studio name, and approved-image count.
  • The app creates both an offline folder and a matching upload-ready zip, allowing the same package format to move into a future online client portal.

Previous milestone: 0.73.0 Measurement Trend Charts Across Pedal Cycle

  • Each completed Before or After pedal-cycle review now plots knee, hip, ankle, body-reach, and back-angle values across every fitter-approved checkpoint.
  • Color-coded traces make angle movement through the full revolution easier to review than a minimum/maximum value alone.
  • Top, Bottom, Front, and Rear crank-position markers are shown directly on the trend chart so measurements retain their position context.
  • The chart updates while checkpoints are reviewed and only saves after every point is approved, keeping tracking corrections under fitter control.
  • A client-ready PNG is saved automatically in the active session and included in the approved evidence collection and generated report.
  • Trend charts remain advisory and preserve Kinovea playback, drawing, and precision measurement tools for final professional confirmation.

Previous milestone: 0.72.0 Dual-Camera Synchronization and Comparison

  • Video Studio now includes Sync + Compare Two Cameras for pairing two clips from the active client fit session.
  • Each video keeps a clear camera role such as side, front, drive-side, or rear view.
  • Matching Event 1 timestamps calculate the playback offset between the two cameras.
  • An optional second matching event measures synchronization drift across the clips and produces a visible 0–100 confidence score.
  • Save + Open Pair launches both selected clips in Kinovea's two playback screens for visual alignment and measurement comparison.
  • Synchronization inputs, offset, drift, and confidence stay saved with the client session and appear in the client report for traceability.

Previous milestone: 0.71.0 Assisted Workflow Testing and Recovery

  • The Fit Day Dashboard now saves a recovery point whenever the fitter opens or advances an assisted workflow stage.
  • Resume Last Stage returns directly to Intake, Record, Track, Measure, Approve, Report, or Follow-up after the app or fit session is reopened.
  • Workflow Check explains incomplete stages and identifies Before/After videos that were moved, deleted, or never selected.
  • Fitters can deliberately skip a stage only with a written reason, restore it later, and keep that decision visible in the saved session.
  • Report timestamps detect when session changes make the previously generated report outdated and guide the fitter to generate it again.
  • The seven-stage recovery summary is saved with the session and can be included in the report for a clear fit-day audit trail.

Previous milestone: 0.70.0 Complete Assisted Fit Workflow

  • The Fit Day Dashboard now presents one polished seven-stage path: Intake, Record, Track, Measure, Approve, Report, and Follow-up.
  • Each dashboard stage opens the existing focused workspace or Kinovea working mode, keeping the client session and its Before/After folders active throughout the fit.
  • The primary next-step action now distinguishes saved evidence, rider tracking, complete bike and body measurements, fitter-approved recommendations, generated report output, and the client adaptation plan.
  • A 7/7 readiness display makes unfinished stages visible without blocking the fitter from moving between sections or using Kinovea's original tools.
  • Fitter approval requires a selected report image, a client-ready fit summary, and reviewed recommendations or follow-up guidance before report generation.
  • Completed reports and client follow-up records finish the guided path while all manual controls, folders, and regular saves remain available.

Previous milestone: 0.69.0 Tracking Calibration and Accuracy Testing

  • Guided Measurements now includes a Calibration & Accuracy Test using a trusted, known physical dimension.
  • An optional pixel span records the image scale in pixels per millimeter for a transparent calibration reference.
  • Two or three repeated readings are compared with the known dimension to calculate average measurement error and repeatability spread.
  • A 0–100 confidence score and High, Moderate, or Recalibrate result make questionable measurement setups visible before the fitter relies on them.
  • Calibration inputs and results are saved with the active client session and appear in the client report for traceability.
  • Results remain advisory and explicitly require manual calibration and landmark confirmation with Kinovea's original measurement tools.

Previous milestone: 0.68.0 Fit Change Recommendations

  • Report Builder now converts meaningful Before/After measurement changes into an editable recommendation draft for fitter review.
  • Rider goals, session notes, key findings, and recorded changes can add relevant follow-up prompts for knee, upper-body, saddle, foot, and cleat observations.
  • Recommendations remain conservative guidance: they focus on rechecking comfort, control, repeat video, and adaptation instead of making automatic diagnoses.
  • The draft is saved with the client fit session, remains editable, and enters the final report only when the fitter deliberately chooses Add to Recommendations.
  • Clear guidance-only language reminds the fitter to remove anything that does not match the session and to refer medically concerning symptoms appropriately.

Previous milestone: 0.67.0 Automated Fit Evidence Builder

  • Report generation now automatically inventories the fitter-approved evidence saved in the active client session instead of relying on manual package assembly.
  • The builder collects saved Before/After measurements, selected report images, comparisons, approved rider-tracking overlays, pedal-cycle panels, smart-frame evidence, and confirmed bike-landmark images.
  • Report hide/show choices remain authoritative, so images intentionally hidden by the fitter are not silently added back into the client package.
  • A Fit Evidence Overview in the HTML report shows approved-image counts, recorded measurement counts, and whether Before/After visual evidence is complete.
  • Short-clip rider evidence images are now included directly with their approved tracking summaries, alongside the existing cycle, smart-frame, and bike evidence.
  • Every report package includes Approved Fit Evidence.txt with a readable inventory, approval source, and original path for every collected item.
  • Missing or unsaved items stay excluded; automatic collection never treats random files in the client folders as approved report evidence.

Previous milestone: 0.66.0 Assisted Bike Landmark Tracking

  • Guided Bike Metric Capture now includes Suggest Bike Landmarks after scale calibration, keeping the assistance inside the existing fit workflow.
  • The assistant places editable references for bottom bracket center, saddle top, saddle tip, grip contact, pedal spindle, handlebar center, and both wheel axles.
  • Suggested points use the visible bike region and nearby image contrast to provide a practical starting position rather than replacing fitter judgment.
  • A confidence value and clear confirmation message remind the fitter to drag every orange point onto the exact mechanical reference before saving measurements.
  • Confirmed landmarks assist saddle height/setback, saddle-to-grip distance, handlebar X/Y, crank length, handlebar reach/drop, and wheelbase calculations.
  • Saving creates a labeled landmark evidence image in the active client session and includes the assisted-capture summary and image in the client report package.
  • Kinovea playback, drawing, distance, and manual measurement tools remain available for precision checks and final professional approval.

Previous milestone: 0.65.0 Smart Measurement Capture

  • The complete pedal-cycle review now recommends the clearest checkpoint for knee extension, hip closure, ankle position, body reach, and back angle.
  • Knee and hip suggestions choose the sharpest, best-lit candidate among the most relevant angle extremes instead of blindly selecting a single numerical extreme.
  • Ankle position favors a clear checkpoint around bottom-dead-center, while body reach and back angle favor stable representative positions through the cycle.
  • Every suggestion displays its checkpoint number, measured angle, and a 0–100 clarity score based on tracking confidence, lighting, sharpness, and warnings.
  • Saving the cycle review creates a separate five-panel Smart Measurement Capture image in the active client session and adds the suggestions to the fit report.
  • Suggestions remain advisory so the fitter can confirm the frame, correct tracked points, and perform the final measurement with Kinovea playback and drawing tools.

Previous milestone: 0.64.0 Tracking Quality and Camera Guidance

  • Body Angles now includes Camera & Tracking Quality for matching Before and After side-view frames.
  • Automatic checks flag poor lighting, clipped highlights, likely motion blur, low resolution, overly small riders, and tightly cropped joints.
  • Camera guidance estimates tilt and warns when framing suggests the camera is not centered near the rider's hip.
  • Before/After comparison warns about mismatched rider size, horizontal centering, or image shape before measurements are accepted.
  • Joint-visibility and hip-height/square-camera confirmations keep the fitter in control when an automatic image check cannot reliably see an obstruction.
  • The saved quality summary stays with the client fit session and appears in the generated session summary and report.
  • All findings are advisory; Kinovea playback, drawing, and manual measurement tools remain available for the final professional check.

Previous milestone: 0.63.0 Pedal-Cycle Measurement Review

  • Body Angles now includes Review Complete Pedal Cycle for Before or After motion.
  • The review accepts 6–16 ordered checkpoints covering one complete pedal revolution and carries the approved rider landmarks through every image.
  • After fitter review and drift correction, the ankle path identifies the Top, Bottom, Front, and Rear crank-position checkpoints for the selected riding direction.
  • Each identified position records knee, hip, and ankle angles, while the complete cycle summarizes knee, hip, ankle, body-reach, and back-angle ranges.
  • A four-panel annotated cycle image labels the four crank positions and is saved in the active client session as report evidence.
  • The identified positions, angle ranges, checkpoint count, and correction count are retained in the session and included in generated reports.
  • Video Studio remains the place to select the complete pedal turn, save evenly spaced frames, and use Kinovea playback, drawing, and precision measurement tools.

Previous milestone: 0.62.0 Short-Clip Rider Tracking

  • Body Angles now includes Track Short Before Clip and Track Short After Clip for reviewing motion across 3–12 ordered checkpoints from a short pedaling clip.
  • The fitter approves the first eight-point rider pose, then the tracker follows those landmarks into each next checkpoint using local image matching.
  • Every checkpoint shows a tracking-confidence check; low-confidence motion is clearly marked for correction instead of being silently accepted.
  • Orange joint points remain draggable at every checkpoint, and a correction becomes the seed for the remaining clip so drift does not erase earlier approved work.
  • The assistant reports accepted knee, hip, ankle, body-reach, and back-angle ranges across the reviewed motion rather than relying on only one paused frame.
  • Saving writes representative angle values, correction history, and a three-frame annotated evidence strip into the active client fit session and report.
  • Video Studio still controls playback, short working-zone selection, frame saves, drawing tools, and precision review.

Previous milestone: 0.61.0 Before/After Rider Tracking Comparison

  • Body Angles now includes Compare Before + After for viewing both paused side-view rider frames and their editable tracking overlays together.
  • Both frames receive independent eight-point rider suggestions, direction controls, and full drag correction before measurements can be approved.
  • Knee, hip, ankle, body-reach, and back angles update side by side with the numerical change shown for each measurement.
  • Comparison quality warns about mismatched image shape, rider scale/framing, low subject-estimate confidence, and an unconfirmed crank-position match.
  • Approved values populate both Before and After session measurements in one step.
  • Saving creates one client-ready annotated comparison PNG and selects it as the side-by-side and measurement-reference report image.
  • Suggestions remain advisory and all Video Studio capture, playback, drawing, and measurement tools remain unchanged.

Previous milestone: 0.60.0 Automatic Rider Tracking and Measurement Assistance

  • Body Angles can now place an automatic eight-point rider overlay on a saved paused side-view image for faster measurement setup.
  • Suggested hip, knee, ankle, forefoot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and ear points remain fully draggable so the fitter approves the anatomy rather than accepting it blindly.
  • Flip Rider Direction rebuilds the suggested pose for riders facing the opposite side.
  • Knee, hip, ankle, body-reach, and back angles recalculate immediately as points move.
  • Tracking confidence, image-resolution checks, broad angle checks, and joint-spacing warnings identify frames or suggested placements that need closer review.
  • Saving approved measurements also creates an annotated PNG in the active client session and selects it as the report measurement-reference image.
  • Video Studio capture, playback, drawing, and measurement tools remain available for precision checks and manual work.

Previous milestone: 0.58.0 Backup, Restore, and Client-data Portability

  • Options now includes Backup & Data Transfer for full-studio backups and single-client transfer packages.
  • Full backups include client folders, sessions, videos, images, measurements, reports, follow-ups, studio settings, custom branding, fit templates, and camera profiles.
  • Restore accepts only validated Cassette Motion Pro full-backup ZIPs and automatically creates a dated safety backup before replacing current data.
  • A selected client can be exported with their complete folder and imported on another Cassette Motion Pro computer.
  • Duplicate imports offer Replace, Keep Both, or Cancel without silently overwriting a client.
  • ZIP extraction checks file paths before writing so malformed packages cannot write outside the temporary restore area.

Previous milestone: 0.57.0 Studio Settings and Report Branding

  • Options now includes a simple Studio Settings screen for the studio name, fitter name, phone, email, website, and report subtitle.
  • Contact details are saved once for the studio and reused across newly generated reports, summaries, handoff files, and client packages.
  • Optional contact fields can be left blank and are omitted from client-facing output instead of showing unfinished placeholders.
  • A custom PNG or JPG studio logo can replace the built-in Cassette Motion Pro report logo while each fit still controls Full Logo, CM badge, or No Logo.
  • Settings persist between app launches without changing client folders or fit data.

Previous milestone: 0.56.0 Fit Search, Filters, and Client Management

  • Client Fits now searches client names, bikes, email, phone, fit titles, fit status, bike type, and follow-up status.
  • Filters highlight follow-ups due, clients needing attention, fits in progress, and clients with completed fits.
  • Sorting supports recently opened clients, newest fit, next follow-up date, and name.
  • Each row shows the latest fit date and follow-up state, with overdue or attention items visually highlighted.
  • Follow-ups can be added directly to a client's latest fit from Client Fits.
  • Clients can be archived and restored without deleting their folders, sessions, videos, measurements, reports, or follow-up history.

Previous milestone: 0.55.0 Client-ready Report and PDF Polish

  • Reports now include a compact final-position snapshot for the five key bike contact-point measurements.
  • Missing image slots are omitted from client reports instead of printing unfinished "Image not added yet" placeholders.
  • Before and After images use cleaner matched presentation and client-facing labels.
  • Measurement changes use neutral styling so an increase or decrease is not presented as automatically good or bad.
  • Letter-size print rules improve margins, color reproduction, table continuity, image sizing, and page-break behavior when using Print / Save PDF.
  • Reports include a preparation date and short report reference for easier client filing.
  • Internal "review before sending" prompts and empty optional sections are omitted from the client-facing file, keeping exported PDFs clean and intentional.

Previous milestone: 0.54.0 Client Follow-up and Adaptation Tracking

  • Client History can now add dated follow-up entries to any saved fit.
  • Each check-in records adaptation status, comfort score, rides completed, rider feedback, symptoms or concerns, fitter actions, and an optional next check-in.
  • Multiple check-ins remain attached to the original fit instead of replacing the previous notes.
  • The latest adaptation status appears in the history list, while the full follow-up timeline appears in the selected fit summary.
  • Follow-up records stay inside the client's saved fit data and do not alter videos, measurements, evidence, or the original report.

Previous milestone: 0.53.0 Guided Fit Protocols

  • Session Setup includes guided fit protocols for Road, Gravel, Mountain, Triathlon / TT, and Hybrid / Comfort bikes.
  • Each protocol follows intake, setup, Before capture, bike-specific fitting, validation, After capture, and reporting.
  • Every step includes concise guidance and a visible progress count.
  • Progress is stored with the active client fit session and returns when reopened.
  • A fitting template can select its matching protocol for a new session without replacing a protocol already chosen by the fitter.

Previous milestone: 0.52.0 Camera Setup Profiles

  • Video Studio now includes reusable dual-camera profiles for common Side + Front, Drive + Non-drive, and Side + Rear fitting setups.
  • Each profile records the left/right camera roles, device labels, resolution, frame rate, and setup notes while leaving Kinovea's native camera controls intact.
  • Fitters can save and delete custom studio profiles and reuse them with any client.
  • Record Before and Record After each open two capture screens, save both camera angles into the selected phase folder, and create clear camera-role filenames.
  • The active profile and screen roles are saved with the fit session, and a camera setup note is placed alongside the captured media for repeatable setup.

Previous milestone: 0.51.0 Fit Day Dashboard and Navigation Cleanup

  • Fit Day now opens on a simple dashboard with four stages: Client + Session, Video Studio, Measurements, and Report.

  • One primary action changes automatically to the next useful step for the active fit.

  • A compact readiness summary shows session, Before, After, evidence, metrics, and report-image progress without opening several tabs.

  • Session details, goals, and fitting templates now live together on a focused Session Setup screen.

  • Duplicate command-center controls were removed from the setup screen, while folder shortcuts remain available under More Options + Folders.

  • The simplified dashboard scrolls on smaller laptops and keeps all Video Studio capture, playback, drawing, and measurement tools unchanged.

  • A shared Cassette Motion Pro design system now controls product colors, typography, surfaces, borders, tabs, lists, inputs, and button states.

  • Client Fits, New Client, and Fit Day use a consistent dark-and-lime identity with cleaner spacing and polished product headers.

  • Fit Day has a redesigned top navigation with high-contrast selected tabs and a visible lime progress accent.

  • Client and session lists, search, forms, and action buttons now read as one cohesive application instead of separate Kinovea add-on screens.

  • Kinovea capture, playback, drawing, and measurement tools remain unchanged and fully available inside Video Studio.

  • A Repeat Fit shortcut creates and saves a fresh session from the active fit.

  • Client History also offers Start Repeat Fit from any selected saved session.

  • The previous template, rider goals, recommendations, and follow-up context carry forward so the fitter can prepare quickly.

  • Videos, images, and measurements stay blank so every repeat fit uses fresh evidence.

  • The new session remembers which previous fit it came from and immediately has its client-specific save folders ready for Video Studio.

  • A read-only Client History workspace lists the client’s other saved fit sessions.

  • Fitters can compare the selected previous fit’s final bike and rider measurements against the active fit’s Before and final values.

  • Previous goals, changes, recommendations, follow-up, template, date, and status stay visible beside the measurement comparison.

  • Previous sessions and their folders can be opened directly from the history view.

  • Fit Day includes reusable fitting templates for Road, Gravel, Mountain Bike, Triathlon, and Hybrid/Comfort workflows.

  • Applying a template can replace the current Fit Summary draft or fill only empty fields, while preserving all client videos, images, and measurements.

  • Fitters can save their current summary language as a custom global template, reuse it with another client, and remove custom templates when no longer needed.

  • Each fit session remembers which template was applied for consistent follow-up.

  • Fit Day and Client Manager now use a visible CM badge and Cassette Motion Pro branded headers.

  • The main analysis area is presented to fitters as Video Studio instead of Kinovea Video.

  • Fitter-facing workflow guidance now uses Cassette Motion Pro language from client setup through measurement and report output.
