[Bug]: Native chat session titles are not reflected in the worktree sidebar #25632
Native Claude and Codex chat sessions have descriptive titles in the tab bar, but the nested agent rows in the left worktrees panel still show "Claude Chat" or "Codex Chat".
What happened?
The worktree sidebar shows generic chat labels instead of the corresponding session tab titles:
The session tab bar already has the descriptive titles:
Expected behavior
Show each session's tab title in its corresponding nested row in the worktrees panel.
How can we reproduce it?
Open a native Claude or Codex chat session in a worktree.
Give the session tab a descriptive title, or use a session whose tab already has one.
Expand the nested agent rows in the left worktrees panel.
Compare the sidebar label with the session's tab title.
Anything else that might help
The Orca homepage shows descriptive names in the nested agent rows, although that example uses terminal agents. This report concerns native chat sessions.
A possible cause, not yet confirmed: useAgentRowConversationName looks up live tabs in tabsByWorktree, while native agent-session tabs are tracked in unifiedTabsByWorktree. The sidebar may therefore miss the native session's title metadata.
Replaces #25587, which was originally filed using the feature-request template.
Thanks for the clear repro. I’m investigating the sidebar title projection for native sessions. I’ll first add a focused regression covering the unified-tab title lookup and make sure subagent and split-pane labels remain unchanged. If it reproduces on current main, I’ll send a scoped fix.
Fixed by #25986 (merge commit b3b6c5d). Sidebar agent rows now look up native chat tabs in the unified tab store and use their shared conversation/custom name, so they display the descriptive session title rather than the generic Claude/Codex Chat label.
The October 15 follow-up confirms the fix. I also checked the current source and reran the agent-row conversation-name tests successfully. Closing as fixed.
