Add CAPOWN_SOURCE_DIR to skip archive download, discover Docker outside bare PATH, and fall back from container to host mode with explicit messaging when Docker is unavailable.
Preserve process PATH when building images, fail install/start when container setup fails, ensure container before service restart, and add focused regression tests.
