Thanks @huseyinyilmaz, an ORM would make things simpler for complex stuff. Taking into consideration that documentation for Boto3 is lacking at best, not to mention the library being un-pythonic with CamelCase naming etc. I had a few issues, and looked for answers on StackOverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/39626894/boto3-query-using-keyconditionexpression

At the moment I'm happy with working nearer to the metal as I'm still learning about the inner workings of AWS, and hopefully the project will stay simple, but at some point it will make sense to move the logic into an ORM.
