WCRP Update 5.5 #510
Conversation
Allows countries to have two championships per year - one quiet and one main. This supersedes the previous FMC championship guidelines. Championships must now only have 3x3 as their main event, fixing inconsistencies with championships having no main event or FMC/3BLD for quiet championships
In line with recent communication from the WCA Board.
Qualifications may now apply to only results from a certain time period of at least 90 days ending on the qualification deadline.
A competition name is allowed if it is in a language other than English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish - the languages spoken in the greatest number of countries. Arabic is excluded since competition names already wouldn't be written in Arabic due to permitted characters.
| 1. Exception: Two competitions may have the same Championship status if one of the competitions has only 3x3x3 Fewest Moves as an event and the other competition does not hold the event 3x3x3 Fewest Moves. The two competitions must be held in the same calendar year. | ||
| 3. A championship type for a region must only be assigned on the following basis, with each event held at most once per region per year. | ||
| 1. One competition per region per year is to be considered the Main Championship for the region and is permitted to hold any events. This competition must hold 3x3x3 Cube. | ||
| 2. A competition to be considered the Quiet Championship may be held. This competition is permitted to hold any combination of the following events: 3x3x3 Blindfolded, 3x3x3 Fewest Moves, 4x4x4 Blindfolded, 5x5x5 Blindfolded, and 3x3x3 Multi-Blind. |

| 1. The WCA Integrity Committee may cancel the registrations of suspended competitors for upcoming competitions while they are suspended. |
"Sanctioned" gets a little confusing this in this context, as it was just used to reference the recognition of competitions and is now used to refer to suspensions.

Clarify that this refers to the official H2H format, and not old-style H2H rounds.
Plural acknowledges that there may be a H2H rounds for multiple events, singular suggests only one is permitted.

Redundant, since these competitions can't hold 3x3, but not harmful to keep for clarity.
