v1.62.1

Bug Fixes

  • #41989 [Regression]: tsconfig "extends" bare specifier isn't resolved via node_modules walk-up like tsc (fatal since 1.62)
  • #41998 [Regression]: directory-form tsconfig project references ("path": "../pkg") fail to resolve (fatal since 1.62)
  • #41985 Accessibility snapshot drops button name when text is nested inside spans with aria-hidden SVG
  • #42000 [Regression]: page.evaluate() arg of a branded primitive type (string & { brand }) no longer type-checks since 1.62
  • #42013 [BUG]Image-type actionable elements are not presented in the snapshot.

v1.62.0

🧱 New component testing model

Component testing moves to a stories and galleries model. A story wraps your component in one specific scenario — hard-coded props, mock data, providers — and a gallery page that you serve renders stories on demand. The new fixtures.mount() fixture navigates to the gallery, mounts a story by id, and returns a Locator scoped to the story's root element:

test('click should expand', async ({ mount }) => {
  const component = await mount('components/Expandable/Stateful');
  await component.getByRole('button').click();
  await expect(component.getByTestId('expanded')).toHaveValue('true');
});

Pass a story type as a template argument to type-check its props, and use update(props) / unmount() on the returned locator to re-render or tear down within a test.

🛑 Cancel operations with AbortSignal

Most operations and web-first assertions now accept a signal option that takes an AbortSignal, letting you cancel long-running actions, navigations, waits, and assertions:

const controller = new AbortController();
setTimeout(() => controller.abort(), 1000);
await page.getByRole('button', { name: 'Submit' }).click({ signal: controller.signal });
await expect(page.getByText('Done')).toBeVisible({ signal: controller.signal });

Providing a signal does not disable the default timeout; pass timeout: 0 to disable it.

🖼️ WebP screenshots

expect(page).toHaveScreenshot() and expect(locator).toHaveScreenshot() can now store snapshots in the WebP format — just give the snapshot a .webp name:

// Visual comparisons store the golden snapshot as lossless WebP.
await expect(page).toHaveScreenshot('homepage.webp');
// Standalone screenshots can trade quality for size with lossy WebP.
await page.screenshot({ path: 'homepage.webp', quality: 50 });
</tr></table>

Updates @tailwindcss/cli from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3

Release notes

Sourced from @tailwindcss/cli's releases.

v4.3.3

Fixed

  • Support --watch --poll[=ms] in @tailwindcss/cli when filesystem events are unreliable or unavailable (#20297)
  • Canonicalization: match arbitrary hex colors against theme colors case-insensitively (e.g. bg-[#fff] and bg-[#FFF]bg-white) (#20298)
  • Prevent Preflight from overriding Firefox's native iframe:focus-visible outline styles (#20292)
  • Ensure theme('colors.foo') in JS plugins resolves correctly when both --color-foo and --color-foo-bar exist (#20299)
  • Ensure fractional opacity modifiers work with named shadow sizes like shadow-sm/12.5, text-shadow-sm/12.5, drop-shadow-sm/12.5, and inset-shadow-sm/12.5 (#20302)
  • Parse selectors like [data-foo]div as two selectors instead of one (#20303)
  • Ensure @tailwindcss/postcss rebuilds when a preprocessor like Sass changes the input CSS without changing the input file on disk (#20310)
  • Ensure CSS nesting is handled even when Lightning CSS isn't run, such as in @tailwindcss/browser and Tailwind Play (#20124)
  • Prevent achromatic theme colors from shifting hue when mixed in polar color spaces like oklch (#20314)
  • Ensure --spacing(0) is optimized to 0px instead of 0 so it remains a <length> when used in calc(…) (#20319)
  • Load @parcel/watcher only when needed in @tailwindcss/cli --watch mode, so one-off builds and --watch --poll work when @parcel/watcher can't be loaded (#20325)
  • Use explicit platform fonts instead of system-ui and ui-sans-serif so CJK text respects the page's lang attribute on Windows (#20318)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/upgrade from rewriting ignored files when run from a subdirectory (#20329)
  • Ensure earlier @source rules pointing to nested files are scanned when later @source rules point to files in parent folders (#20335)
  • Prevent @tailwindcss/vite from triggering full page reloads when scanned files are processed by Vite but haven't been loaded as modules yet (#20336)

v2.11.0

What's Changed in 2.11.0

  • feat: Adds a new getTimeline() method for getting the series of minimum browser changes, either grouped by date or by browser.
  • refactor: Substantial refactoring of the data compression process that replaces the full list of browsers from @mdn/browser-compat-data and downstream-browsers.json and features from web-features (in their very pared down form) with a change-list timeline that reflects which versions supported Baseline (newly available) on a given date. Thanks to @swwind for the idea!
  • refactor: Some common functions have been moved to a util.ts module for use in other scripts.
  • fix: Removes process.exit() calls when unsupported option combinations are passed to getCompatibleVersions() and getAllVersions() in favour of throwing an Error. There is a small security risk with process.exit() calls that sites accepting unsanitised inputs could be the subject of attacks. Unsupported config options now throw and Error which should allow for more graceful handling. Thanks to @bnbdr for flagging this as vulnerability CVE-2026-45819 .

P1 Badge Reconcile Bun lock with bumped dev graph

This starts the dev-dependency bump, but apps/web/bun.lock was not updated: its workspace still lists the previous versions, such as @next/bundle-analyzer ^16.2.10 and @types/node ^24.13.3. The repo keeps Bun install/unit flows supported and requires reconciling bun.lock with package.json/package-lock.json, and this diff makes bun test tests-unit/typescript-toolchain-source.test.ts fail on the Bun/npm graph parity assertion; regenerate bun.lock for the same dependency graph.

P1 Badge Keep the TypeScript ESLint contract synchronized

This bump is still asserted as an exact TypeScript-toolchain owner in apps/web/tests-unit/typescript-toolchain-source.test.ts, which expects typescript-eslint to remain 8.63.0 in the manifest and lockfile; running that test now fails immediately on this changed value. If 8.66.0 is intentional, update the source contract/provenance assertions with the same evidence, otherwise keep the pinned owner version unchanged.

P2 Badge Keep ESLint on a supported peer range

Bumping ESLint to 10 here leaves the Next lint stack with plugins whose peer ranges do not include ESLint 10: the lockfile keeps eslint-plugin-import, eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y, and eslint-plugin-react under eslint-config-next, and their peer ranges stop at ESLint 9. npm ls --package-lock-only --all reports invalid: eslint@10.8.0, so the npm/lint graph is unsupported before lint runs; keep ESLint on 9.x or wait for the Next/plugins stack to support 10.

P2 Badge Keep Node typings aligned with the Node 24 runtime

The app engine and repository runtime remain Node 24.x, but this changes the ambient Node API surface to Node 26. The failure mode is server code or scripts using a Node 26-only API that passes the repo typecheck but throws in the deployed Node 24 environment; keep @types/node on the 24.x line until the runtime is upgraded.
