Why FilmPositive? FilmPositive is built for photographers who camera-scan their film and want direct control over negative conversion in a dedicated Windows application.
- An adjustable conversion foundation. Sample clear film before cropping, use optical-density inversion or RGB channel curves, and adjust the automatic white-point percentile to control the balance between brightness and highlight clipping.
- A workflow built around rolls. Share film-base measurements and selected settings across a roll while retaining individual crops, rotations, and frame adjustments.
- Color decisions without scanner-look presets. FilmPositive focuses on film-base sampling, conversion controls, and positive-image adjustments. It does not apply Adobe creative profiles or Noritsu/Frontier-style emulations.
- Conversion and finishing together. Crop, convert, adjust color and tone, sharpen, and export TIFF or JPEG from the same application.
- Local operation. No Adobe application, account, or internet connection is required. Original RAW files remain untouched. FilmPositive is currently an early Windows testing release. Its emphasis is on making the conversion process adjustable and repeatable.
- GPU-accelerated negative conversion
- Film-base sampling and adjustable inversion
