The gas sensor module was designed to make high-fidelity measurements of gas concentrations (O2, CO, CO2) with portability and minimal infrastructure in mind. The initial intention of this module was to support a modular portable phi meter (to measure global equivalence ratio in large-scale fire experiments), but it will also support large-scale experiments conducted by FSRI and other similar institutions. The major improvements of the gas sensor module over existing systems include portability, modularity, low cost, a single communications/power supply connection, and an open-source (python) data acquisition program.
This repository is divided into three directories: 01_Design, 02_Controls, and 03_Documentation. 01_Design includes editable geometry files and schematics in PDF form. 02_Controls includes the programs written to visualize data from the sensor module and log data. 03_Documentation includes manuals and guides that provide information that facilitates configuration, serial communication, and calibration.
