Changelog-only, no code changes. Reviewed all 7 fragments against the assembled section.
All fragments accounted for and the assembled text is faithful. Minor editorial expansions noted:
- 2361-setting-paths.md: assembled text adds 'library paths' and the disabled/local-only auth-mode footnote — clarifications, not retractions.
- addbook-tenancy.md: PR number (#3029) added; 'Admins and installs without tenancy behave as before' appended.
- scan-symlinked-library-root.md: PR number (#3026) added.
- Three new Changed entries (test speedup #2983, coverage #3028/#3032/#3034/#3035/#3039, source-map-js #3036) are not from any fragment — expected per PR description.
Date 2026-10-06 matches today. Assembly is correct; no issues found.

Assembles the seven changelog.d fragments merged since v1.40.1 into a dated v1.40.2 section and removes them. Adds Changed entries for the test speedup (#2983, credited to francisrath), the coverage PRs and the source-map-js build tooling bump. No migrations, no upgrade steps.
Date is 2026-10-06; if the tag goes out on a later day, the date gets a follow up like #3019.
