The SQLite registry is deliberately six functions away from a second backend (_conn() + the table DDL). For fleets of hundreds of sources and multiple operators we need Postgres:
- same schema,
REWEAVE_DB_URL=postgres://… switches backends
- advisory locks around proposal transitions (two operators approving concurrently)
- keep local mode the default — one process + one file stays the quickstart story
