The wunderkammer was the cabinet of curiosities, the institutional forerunner of the museum as we know it, a space where objects from nature, history, art, and science were gathered to evoke wonder and make sense of the world around us. Wunderkammer Labs builds open-source tools and platforms in this tradition, sparking curiosity, supporting ethical strwardship, and preserving and communicating our shred cultural and natural heritage.
We research and develop software, learning resources, and digital infrastructure for museums, archives, libraries, and cultural and natural heritage organizations. Our work spans collection management, mobile interpretation, physical computing installations, augmented reality experiences, data workflows, and the documentation and training that help institutions actually put these tools to use.
