It was first discovered by hairdewx on XDA that if you enable software rendering, the emulator will be more compatible at the loss of some speed. There is also an option for frame skipping which may make up for that loss.
To enable Software Rendering...
Start by playing the game at least once. That'll create a "ucc" folder.
Go into the folder and edit preferences.xml.
Change <boolean name="SW-render" value="false" /> to <boolean name="SW-render" value="true" /> and save.
If the file preferences.xml was not created after playing the game, copy the file from the folder of another game, like the pre-installed one (ie Crash Bandicoot).
