Feature] Official ZCode iPhone Companion — mobile trust surface for remote agent sessions (approvals / diffs / receipts) #872

Description

@agourakis82

ZCode Agent(自研)

Use case

My day-to-day is long-running, remote-first agent work: I develop my own programming language and compiler ecosystem, and I orchestrate ZCode sessions over SSH in tmux on a remote workspace (multiple agent lanes, CI/SLURM submissions, human-in-the-loop review with GLM models doing serious language-engineering work).

The problem: when I step away from the desk, the agent keeps working, but I lose the ability to supervise it. Pending approvals for sensitive tool calls sit untouched; a blocked goal can idle for hours; today my only options on the phone are a raw SSH client or desktop-bound surfaces, none of which are designed for fast, safe approval decisions.

Proposal

An official ZCode iPhone Companion — a focused iOS companion for remote ZCode sessions, explicitly not a mobile IDE:

  • sign in with the same Z.ai/ZCode account
  • list active sessions and goals; show agent state, current action, and pending approvals
  • approve/deny sensitive tool calls with clear risk labels; Face ID/passcode gate for high-risk approvals
  • inspect diffs, CI checks, logs, and receipts
  • send short steering messages to active sessions
  • push notifications for pending approvals, blocked goals, and completed goals
  • connect securely to a desktop or remote ZCode workspace — an SSH/API client boundary, not a Swift port of the CLI

Suggested framing:

Mobile is the trust surface. The agent can keep working, while the human keeps authority.

Expected value

  1. Keeps long-running sessions moving: approvals resolved in seconds from anywhere instead of hours of idle wait.
  2. Makes the security/consent story visible and personal: transparent approvals + receipts on a Face ID–gated device.
  3. Covers SSH/headless/remote-first workflows that the desktop app cannot reach (the fastest-growing usage pattern for agent harnesses).
  4. Strong technical visibility: an official companion demonstrated on real compiler/language-development workflows would show ZCode as a serious agentic engineering environment, not just another coding assistant.

  • This is the official cross-post of Proposal: official ZCode iPhone Companion for remote agent sessions zcode-plugins#57 ("Proposal: official ZCode iPhone Companion for remote agent sessions", same author). It was posted there because the main zai-org/ZCode repository currently has Issues disabled; this feedback channel appears to be the designated triage path for ZCode suggestions.
  • Related community interest in mobile/remote access to agent sessions.

What I can contribute

If this aligns with the roadmap, I would be happy to help draft the product spec, prototype the iOS shell (Swift/SwiftUI), or contribute to the protocol/client boundary design.

ZCode CLI on a remote Linux workspace (SSH-based agent cockpit, tmux-managed sessions); ZCode desktop on macOS arm64. Target platform for this request: iOS (iPhone).
