Community request from Discord user a [ᓚᘏᗢ]:
"have a option to auto use resets when usage limits hit so autonomous work can be done in zcode"
Problem Statement
When running autonomous, multi-step agent tasks in ZCode (such as /goal, deep refactoring loops, or long-running builds), the agent often reaches the 5-hour or daily usage limit while working unattended.
Currently, even if the user owns unused quota reset coupons or cards:
- The agent abruptly halts and waits for manual human intervention.
- The user must manually navigate to the billing or usage page to redeem the reset coupon before resuming the task.
- This breaks unattended workflows and overnight automation.
Proposed Solution
Add an opt-in toggle in ZCode Settings (e.g., under Settings -> Usage / Quota or in session options):
- Setting:
Auto-consume quota reset cards when limit is reached (Toggle: On/Off).
- Safety Cap (Optional): A dropdown allowing users to limit consumption (e.g., "Auto-consume up to 1 / 2 resets per autonomous session").
- Behavior: When ZCode receives a quota exhaustion error (429 or quota limit code) during an active run, it checks whether auto-reset is enabled and a valid reset coupon is available. If so, it redeems the card and automatically continues execution without stopping the agent turn.
User Impact & Benefits
- Enables truly unattended and overnight agent workflows.
- Prevents hours of idle time waiting for manual coupon clicks.
- Gives users full control via an explicit toggle so resets are not spent unintentionally.
