A macOS menu bar app: automatically turns Bluetooth off when your Mac sleeps, and restores it on wake.
- macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
- Homebrew
blueutil+sleepwatcher(the app bootstraps these automatically on first run)
Download the latest .dmg from this repo's Releases page, mount it, and drag BTSleepGuard.app into Applications.
The app is currently ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple, so the first launch will be blocked by Gatekeeper with "can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." Two ways around this:
- Right-click the app → "Open" → choose "Open" again in the dialog (only needed once)
- Or run in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/BTSleepGuard.app
swift build -c release
Or use the script to produce a signed .app bundle:
./Scripts/build_app.sh
cp -R dist/BTSleepGuard.app /Applications/
./Scripts/uninstall.sh
