Setting up your team
One of the first things you should do is appoint two roles:
- project manager
- technical lead
These two roles are no more or less important than the other members of the team. No dictators here.
The roles are for communication.
The project manager gets an understanding of what is happening in the project, and communicates it to everyone within the project, and external to the project.
The technical lead is responsible for collating the technical investigations into an overall design, which is OK'd by everyone in the the team. They must communicate the ideas behind that design to the rest of the team, and communicate the technical ideas of the developers to the project manager.
The project manager is the default person with responsibility for delivery. Some deliveries require attendance at a workshop. It's really important that EVERYONE attends, but it is mandatory for the project manager. Choose wisely!
Each team member must enrol to GitHub and Trello.
The Project Manager must:
- set up a project GMail Account which will represent the Project's interests. Eg.
MMU_<teamname>_2017@gmail.com ----> MMU_TeamGreen_2017@gmail.com
This is your Project Identity.
The Project Manager must:
- use their GitHub Account to set up a Project Organisation
- use their GitHub account to create a base project, unpack the project template into it.
- Invite Alice, as an admin to any GitHub projects they create
- Invite Alice as an admin to any Trello boards they create
- Invite the team members as write to any GitHub projects they create
- Invite the team members as to any Trello boards they create
