MetaSpotta-1.1

About

Minecraft 1.8 (and above) does not support 'extended' metadata values on blocks (commonly used by Conquest to add multiple texture options on a single block).

When converting to 1.8, these blocks unfortunately get replaced by air, so it is important to fix them beforehand.

The MetaSpotta pack highlights blocks with these 'bad' (or 'bugged') metadata values, so that they can be easily identified and replaced.

The pack may produce false positives, and highlight blocks that are not actually bugged.

Confirming a 'bad' block meta

The MetaSpotta pack may not always be 100% correct.
When you find a block that has been highlighted as 'bugged' (has the flashing disco texture), you can confirm by doing the following:

Test:

  1. Find the same type of block in your creative inventory - do not use 'pick block' (middle mouse button) as this sometimes copies the bugged metadata
  2. Try and place/position it to recreate the bugged block

Results:

  • If the newly placed block has it's normal texture, then you have confirmed that the bugged block is indeed bugged, and should be replaced

  • If the newly placed block also has the warning texture, this means the resourcepack is probably* showing a false positive (ie the block doesn't actually have bad metadata and can be kept as-is)
