CS2's mg_active map group in gamemodes.txt is stale (still Train, Overpass, Vertigo). The game's play menu builds its Active Duty quick-select from map groups with "grouptype" "active"; intersected with the competitive template (templates#include → competitive) that gives the real 7.

  • ParseActiveDutyMaps reads competitive-template groups tagged active, in template order, skipping lobby groups (mg_lobby_mapveto). Falls back to mg_active when the template gives nothing.
  • New fixture + test (testdata/gamemodes_competitive.txt). Checked against the current pak01_dir.vpk gamemodes.txt: de_cache, de_anubis, de_inferno, de_mirage, de_dust2, de_nuke, de_ancient.
  • map_thumbnails/maps.json activeDuty regenerated to that list.

…mg_active

CS2's mg_active map group still lists Train, Overpass and Vertigo. The
game's own play menu builds Active Duty from the map groups that are in
the competitive template and tagged grouptype active. Parse that (in
template order), skip lobby groups, and fall back to mg_active only when
the template gives nothing. maps.json now lists cache, anubis, inferno,
mirage, dust2, nuke and ancient.
