0.5.1: prepare the next release candidate

Scope

Prepare 0.5.1, as requested. Current head: 682cdec8d73dca455a2b40688f1170d5f006728f, integrating main 76853a88ad9f847f35aa7944d6f2cddb56222ef7 including merged #216, #218, #219 and #220. Version remains 0.5.1; the branch name is historical. Earlier head CI is historical, not validation of this integration.

• Prominent README website, interactive demo, Quickstart and documentation links; all three live routes verified HTTP 200.
• Single-source version, three generated manifests, truthful merged changelog, compatibility and pre-publication installation guidance.
• Preserve the owner's latest website, JavaScript, styles, installer and MkDocs configuration. The homepage is byte-identical to main.
• Retain the new quickstart layout while distinguishing main installation from the future 0.5.1 package/tag and documenting editable source checkout and source-only examples.
• Consolidate fix: repair quickstart documentation CI gates #211's HTML anchor fix into the rendered-Markdown guard with negative controls. Include the site's meta extension so malformed-YAML descriptions do not invent anchors.
• No engine behavior changes. Verifier aliases remain and their 0.7 removal promise is unchanged. Unmerged proposals are excluded.

Compatibility

Python >=3.9; MCP >=3.10. NumPy >=1.20 is new since 0.5.0. Checkpointing, replay weighting and audit draining remain opt-in. Token budgets depend on adapter-reported usage, not provider-side hard spending limits.

Validation

Latest integration is independently reviewed; exact-head CI and the local full suite are still running. This PR is temporarily Draft until those checks are resolved.

• Remote head and reviewed tree verified: 682cdec8d73dca455a2b40688f1170d5f006728f / 684d9b5a25192a43503d7ae1c944840a1d4a9677.
• Only CHANGELOG required conflict resolution. Existing release notes are retained and the merged fix(docs): keep interactive demo reachable in mobile navigation #219/fix(docs): prevent Material styles from breaking the website layout #220 mobile-navigation and responsive-layout fixes are included under 0.5.1 Fixed. Installer, navigation, CSS and rendered Chromium CI checks remain byte-identical to current main.
• Independent focused checks: 127 passed, 4 skipped for unavailable optional host tooling; JavaScript 10/10 passed. Strict MkDocs and navigation across 80 rendered documentation pages passed in independent review.
• Fresh wheel/sdist build and twine checks passed. Fresh installation checks are in progress.
• Previous full-suite/installed-package and green CI evidence on 6b6fd9b is historical, not validation of this head. Known local sandbox NETLINK_ROUTE and Chromium limitations will be compared against the exact current base before reporting failures as environmental.
• No paid-model calls, native Windows/macOS host sessions, merge, tag, registry publication or deployment performed.

Actual release conditions

This PR prepares a candidate. No merge, tag, GitHub release, registry publication, security setting or trusted-publisher change is performed here.

• fix(docs): keep quickstart demo restarts and approvals consistent #209's demo-race fixes are integrated. All 10 JavaScript regressions pass locally and independently; final release-SHA CI remains required.
• Merged fix: keep installed host commands working outside installer PATH #218's installer PATH and stale-interpreter repair is integrated, including its built-wheel host-launch gates. Exact-head full-matrix and wheel CI passed; final merged release-SHA validation is still required.
• First actual npm OIDC publication remains unverified. The previous workflow skipped upload because dsh-agentdescent@0.5.0 already existed: https://github.com/Birfy/agentdescent/actions/runs/34125396446 . This is not evidence access is broken or approved.
• Verify final merged SHA, required tests/CI, installation and core workflows, release date and matching tag/Python/npm/marketplace versions before publication. Live host sessions and paid model runs are not covered.
