๐Ÿ”„ Migration

Already have notes in another addon? BigNoteBox can copy them over.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Supported Addons

  • Noteworthy II
  • TakeANote
  • Yet Another Notepad
  • Notepad
  • Notes
  • TinyPad
  • PurpleNotes
  • SimpleNote
  • QuickNotes
  • MyNotepad
  • AmmeNotepad
  • OneWoW Notes

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ It Is a Copy, Not a Move

Your notes in the other addon are never changed or deleted. You can keep using it, compare the two, and remove it whenever you are ready.

๐Ÿš€ How It Starts

The other addon must be installed and enabled, so BigNoteBox can read its notes.

  • During setup: the setup wizard lists the note addons it found and tells you migration will be offered when setup is done.
  • At login: a Migrate to BigNoteBox window lists the addons it found. Tick the ones you want, then click Migrate Now, or Not Now to be asked later.
  • Any time: open the settings (/bnb config), go to the Advanced tab and use the Migrate section. Each addon has its own button, which reads Migrate Again once it has been done.

Don't want to be asked at login? Tick the addon under Don't ask again.

๐Ÿ‘€ Preview First

Click Preview to see every note that will be copied, grouped by addon, with its title and whether it will be an account-wide or a character note. Nothing is copied until you confirm.

๐Ÿท๏ธ What You Get

  • Every note gets a tag with the addon's name (for example TinyPad), so you can find all of them with one tag filter.
  • TakeANote: tick Use category names as tags to turn its categories into tags as well.
  • Character notes stay character notes, and shared notes become account-wide.
  • Empty notes are skipped. Notes without a title get one.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Per-Character Notes

Notepad and QuickNotes keep notes per character, and WoW only lets addons read the notes of the character you are logged in on. Log in with each character and migrate once on each to bring all of them over.

โš ๏ธ Reload

Your UI reloads when migration finishes. This is normal: it saves the new notes.
