shader: lower Ampere UIMAD (0x4a4) through the uniform register path - #604
0x4a4 is Ampere uniform arithmetic and it is the only opcode missing from the list that already rewrites the uniform family onto the Maxwell forms. This adds it to that list and maps it to 0x424, exactly like 0x2a4 maps to 0x224.
Two lines, one file. No new state, no new allocation, reuses the uniform mirror that already exists (UR0 to UR21 onto R216 to R237, high uniforms below R216, guarded forms).
Why
Zelda Ocarina of Time rejects four compute programs at boot, and all four fail on this opcode:
So the four 4a4 sites lower now and the failure moves to the next instruction in the same program, which is a UIADD3 that needs its carry out (that one is not addressed here).
Notes for review
The instruction shape I am handling is the unguarded form, Bits(12, 4) == 7, which is what the game emits at these four sites. The guarded 0x4a4 forms (UP0/UP1) will take the same guarded_add/guarded_lea/guarded_multiply rejections that the other opcodes in this list already take, so nothing new is introduced there.
One caveat worth knowing when testing this: the header is reached through program_capture.h, so an incremental MSBuild may not rebuild the translation units that include it. My first attempt produced a binary with 4 rejections still, which was a stale build. Touch src/video_core/shader_environment.cpp before measuring, or use a clean build.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Added support for an additional arithmetic instruction when processing uniform operations, mapping it to the corresponding Maxwell instruction.
0x4a4 is uniform arithmetic and was the only opcode missing from the list
that already rewrites 0x2a4, 0x8a4, 0x890, 0x290, 0x291, 0x292, 0x896 and
0x8a5 onto the Maxwell uniform forms. Add it and map it to 0x424, the same
way 0x2a4 maps to 0x224.
Zelda Ocarina of Time hits four of these at boot and each one rejects the
whole compute program.
The uniform arithmetic rewrite now accepts opcode 0x4a4 through its existing validation and register-rewrite path. The opcode mapping converts it to Maxwell opcode 0x424.
Changes: Uniform opcode lowering
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Add uniform opcode dispatch and mapping src/shader_recompiler/frontend/ampere/lower_to_maxwell.h
The uniform arithmetic dispatch accepts opcode 0x4a4, and the opcode mapping converts it to Maxwell opcode 0x424.
Issue 589 reports compute shader rejection at opcode 0x4a4 and missing draws. This change adds support for that opcode; the issue also reports other rejections that this change does not address.
The new opcode is lowered without enabling the register shadowing that uniform operands depend on. In shaders where 0x4a4 is the only uniform-bank instruction, this can corrupt register values and cause wrong rendering or compute results. Add 0x4a4 to the pre-scan list before merging; the change is a one-token edit.

Explanation
The title names the main change: adding Ampere UIMAD opcode 0x4a4 to the uniform register lowering path. The raw summary confirms the change adds 0x4a4 to the uniform arithmetic rewrite, following the existing uniform-register mapping, and lowers it to Maxwell opcode 0x424. The title is concise, specific, and free of file lists or vague wording. It does not mention the Maxwell 0x424 target, but that detail is not required.

Add 0x4a4 to the uniform-bank pre-scan.
The new path rewrites 0x4a4 through uniform_register, but uses_uniform_bank still does not recognize this opcode. A program whose only uniform-bank instruction is 0x4a4 therefore uses shadow_boundary = 246 instead of high_uniform_base. Native accesses to the uniform mirror registers R216-R245 are not shadowed and can alias the rewritten instruction's operands. Add op == 0x4a4 to the pre-scan before lowering. The uniform form of IADD3 with a carry-out predicate was rejected when the
output predicate index was above 1, with the reason native integer carry
mode. The lowering below that guard already emits the carry into the uniform
bank (R239, bit 6-n) with save and restore of the predicate, so the guard was
refusing a case the code handles.
Ocarina of Time emits opcode 0x290 with Bits(81,3) == 3, which lands in that
guard. Measured on an RX 5700 with the 0x4a4 lowering from Eglantine-Community#604 also applied:
zero rejected programs at boot instead of one, and 4800 to 7800 presented
frames in 260 to 280 seconds where the program used to be discarded.
Thanks for tracking this down. Closing as already covered: our OoT work (fix/oot-blackscreen) already lowers 0x4a4 through the uniform path (0x4a4 -> 0x424, same mapping as 0x2a4 -> 0x224).
Checked by running the four rejected instructions from this description through the lowering header: on upstream nx2 each one is rejected with unsupported native opcode, on our branch all four lower with no rejection. This only covers the lowering, not a full in-game run.
