CSPS devices

Overview

With modules, devices are the two complementary components of CSPS streams central concept. Two types of devices are defined : physical devices, that are related to real physical measurement units and virtual devices that are responsible for physical devices signals corssing. This pages gives a presentation of devices that are managable through CSPS library.

Physical devices

Physical devices are understood as physical measurement units. As a results, physical devices are mostly considered by the extraction modules in order to initiate streams that are processed by the CSPS library. Those streams are then used by virtual devices to undertake signals crossing.

Camera devices

Camera devices are, of course, responsible for image recording. Camera devices are assumed to log the timestamp that are related to each image record. In that way, camera logs allows to locate image in time.

GPS devices

GPS devices are responsible of initiating streams about earth attached position and altitude. Those devices, in the limit of their precision, are considered as absolute positioning measurement units.

IMU devices

As a pure inertial device, IMUs initiate relative translationnal accelerations and relative angular velocities streams. They are mostly used to keep track of body-attached sensor orientation over time.
