Lets a full-screen view leave full screen and stay on screen in a pane beside the main layout, so the lyrics and the visualizer (or cover art, the queue, the mini player) can be seen at the same time in one terminal. This came from Discord #ideas, and it also covers people who ran one spotatui per terminal for a tiling-WM setup, which the single-instance lock now refuses.
core/pane.rs: a binary split tree of panes. It is saved as pane_layout in state.yml and comes back at the next launch.
Keys: Alt+d detaches the open view (or puts a focused pane back to full screen), Alt+h/j/k/l and Alt+arrows move the focus, Alt+H/J/K/L and Alt+Shift+arrows swap, Alt+r turns a split, Alt+=/Alt+- resize, Alt+x closes a pane (or hides the main layout), Alt+0 closes every pane. All of them can be rebound in config.yml and show in the help menu.
Mouse: a click focuses a pane, [x] closes it, a drag on the line between two panes resizes them.
A detach that would leave a pane too small to draw is refused.
Perf: queued ticks are merged so keys do not wait behind them, and a pane only asks for the fast tick while it moves on screen (a playing visualizer, playing or scrolling lyrics).
The visualizer screen and its pane now open the style V picked last, also on a Spotify track, and the choice is saved in state.yml.
docs/keybindings.md and docs/configuration.md describe the panes and the new keys.
test result: ok. 2344 passed; 0 failed; 8 ignored; 0 measured; 0 filtered out; finished in 3.62s
Additional notes
Not tested: the Alt/Option keys on macOS terminals, and the cover-art test build (the cover-art pane code compiles in CI's all-sources leg).

New Features
Detach lyrics, visualizer, cover art, queue, and mini-player into a customizable pane layout. Focus, rearrange, resize, and close panes with keyboard or mouse controls.
Pane layouts and your selected visualizer style are saved between sessions.
Bug Fixes
The visualizer screen and pane now reopen with your last-selected style, including after a restart.
Documentation
Added guidance on pane controls, keybindings, and behavior when the terminal is too small to display the layout.
A binary split tree of Main and the detachable views (lyrics, visualizer, cover art, queue, mini player), saved as pane_layout in state.yml. An unreadable layout loads as Main alone.
Fourteen rebindable pane keys (detach, close, focus, swap, rotate, resize, reset) with Alt defaults, and alt-<arrow> / alt-shift-<arrow> as key names in config.yml.
Alt+d turns the open full-screen view into a pane, so the lyrics and the visualizer can show at the same time. The pane keys focus, swap, rotate, resize and close panes, Alt+0 resets the layout, and Alt+x on the main layout hides it with the search row and the playbar still on screen. With mouse input on, a click focuses a pane, [x] closes it and a drag on a border resizes it.

Walkthrough
The change adds detachable terminal panes for supported views, with saved layouts, configurable controls, mouse interactions, and pane-aware rendering. It also saves pitch-visualizer selection and updates visualizer and lyrics animation behavior when those views appear in panes.

Pane tree and persisted state src/core/pane.rs, src/core/state.rs, src/core/app/layout.rs, src/core/app/view.rs, src/core/mod.rs
Adds pane and split types with operations for detaching, closing, swapping, rotating, resizing, and restoring panes. Runtime state stores a sanitized pane layout and pitch-view choice.
Pane geometry and main layout src/tui/layout.rs
Calculates pane areas and split borders, checks minimum pane sizes, supports layouts with hidden Main, and selects neighboring panes by geometry.
Adds pane key bindings and Alt-arrow parsing, key and mouse handling for pane actions, and localized status and help text. The documentation describes pane controls and saved layouts.

src/core/user_config.rs:2701-2736 Major · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win
save_config writes unknown for Alt+arrow bindings.
This closure shadows the module-level key_to_config_string. It has no arms for Key::AltArrow or Key::AltShiftArrow, so both fall into _ => "unknown".
A user can set focus_pane_left: alt-left or move_pane_left: alt-shift-left. The docs describe these formats. parse_key accepts them and the runtime holds the right key. The next save_config call then writes unknown for that binding. save_config also runs from hot paths such as volume changes. On the next launch parse_key("unknown") fails, a warning is logged, and the binding falls back to the default. The user loses the custom binding without notice.
The new test alt_arrows_parse_and_write_back_the_same_string only covers the module-level function, so it does not catch this. Delete the duplicate match and delegate to the module-level function.

Update the duplicate `key_to_config_string` closure in `save_config` to delegate
to the module-level `key_to_config_string` function instead of maintaining a
partial `Key` match. This ensures all supported key variants, including
Alt-arrow bindings, serialize consistently.

to detect whether the current tree differs from the default before resetting it,
then reset it to the default and return that change status. This ensures a

- Around line 20-50: Update the pane-closing flow used by handle_pane_key so a
close action on an undersized terminal still restores Main when the layout is a
single non-Main leaf. Ensure hidden-pane handling runs for that close action
even when the layout is not split, and make closing the last non-Main pane reset
a matching leaf to the default Main layout.

@coderabbitai the outside-diff finding on save_config is fixed in 0a07b30: the local closure now delegates to the module-level key_to_config_string, so Alt+arrow bindings survive a save. a_save_keeps_alt_arrow_bindings covers it through the real save path. Please verify.

@coderabbitai please verify the outside-diff save_config finding against c5381b8: the closure delegates to key_to_config_string, and a_save_keeps_alt_arrow_bindings saves alt-left and alt-shift-left through the real save path.
