Main-process stall fixes from the 2026-10-16 code review (research/prism/2026-10-16-code-review.md, findings #4, 14, 29, 21, 11, 10 and part of 9). Built by an Opus agent and reviewed by a second.

Fixes

• Collapsible file tree sidebar #4 Moving a big selection: no more O(n²) containment loop on main.
• Escape closes the whole app while a dialog, context menu or rename is open #14 Right-click: the Paste check reads Electron's clipboard format list. It used to spawn PowerShell with WinForms on every right-click.
• AudioView/VideoView hard-wired to Prism settings stores, blocking prism-core extraction #29 Second instance: handoffs open their paths inside the launch chain, in the order they arrived.
• second-instance ignores workingDirectory, so relative CLI paths resolve against the wrong cwd #21 New Tab: each drive probe has a time limit and Home needs no stat, so a hung drive cannot hold New Tab.
• feat(setup): a setup that plays, and file types Windows will offer #11 Thumbnails: the cache size is kept in memory; the folder is scanned once, and again only past the ceiling.
• Setup: an installer that plays, and file types Windows will offer #10 Folder sizes:
  • The invalidation journal lives in memory; bursts collapse to the outermost folders.
  • dirChanged no longer waits on marker writes.
  • A journal read is kept only when no change can have slipped past its signature.
• A style is one surface, and Daybreak #9 (part) Tab restore: the strip is parsed once, and history and open folders are statted only on local fixed disks. The async root/file/cwd checks were left for later.

Tests

• New unit tests for each fix. 262 unit test files pass; typecheck clean, lint 0 errors.
• Full e2e (before the rebase onto core 0.41.5): all passed except terminal ("claude leaving clears the detection"), which passed alone. The same step failed in the media branch's full run too, so it looks like a core-side race; reported to the PrismTerminal session.
• After the rebase: npm run e2e:terminal green.
