task: apply a preset to Companion and Observer (stock cmd 11 + cmd 61) #730

Closed

Description

@diffwireauto

Parent: #726.

Selecting a preset applies frequency, BW, SF and CR via CMD_SET_RADIO_PARAMS (11), TX power if the preset carries it, and path hash via CMD_SET_PATH_HASH_MODE (61) when the preset carries it. Bytes convert to the zero-based firmware mode (2 bytes = mode 1); this conversion is tested. Client-repeat (Off-Grid) behavior is preserved.

Stock-only: verified present in meshcore-dev/MeshCore upstream/main.

Acceptance

  • Tests for the conversion and for the apply sequence.
  • Owner validates on hardware.

    Starting. Agent: MagentaHawk (session 5a8922d6). Radio params (cmd 11) and TX power (cmd 12) already go out on Save; this adds path hash (cmd 61) when the selected preset carries one and the radio differs.

    Landed on feat/726-preset-catalog as c0ec6c6. Save sends cmd 11 + cmd 12 (as before) and cmd 61 when the preset carries a path hash. Frame test pins the wire bytes (kHz frequency, Hz bandwidth, zero-based path hash mode), verified against stock companion_radio/MyMesh.cpp. Owner hardware validation is part of D1 (#738).
