feat(desktop): add audio muting to browser pane - #9395
Adds the ability to mute and unmute audio in the desktop application's browser pane via its overflow menu.
Previously, web pages playing media inside a browser pane had no direct audio toggle within the app UI. This change:
Exposes setAudioMuted and isAudioMuted methods on BrowserManager and wires them through the browser tRPC router.
Adds dynamic Mute tab / Unmute tab actions with speaker icons to BrowserOverflowMenu.tsx.
Ensures mute state persists across browser pane reloads and re-registrations on the guest webContents.
How I tested it
Unit Tests:
Ran bun test apps/desktop/src/main/lib/browser/browser-manager.test.ts (33/33 tests passed, including the new audio muting persistence tests).
Typecheck & Lint:
Ran bun run typecheck (42/42 tasks passed with 0 errors).
Ran biome check on all modified files (clean, no warnings or formatting issues).
Manual & Interactive Verification:
Opened a browser pane in a local workspace and navigated to YouTube with an active audio stream.
Clicked the ... overflow menu and verified the item shows Mute tab.
Selected Mute tab and confirmed the guest webContents audio silenced immediately.
Re-opened the ... menu, confirmed the label updated to Unmute tab, clicked it, and verified audio playback resumed.
Reloaded the pane with Ctrl + R while muted to verify mute persistence.
Checklist

Summary by cubic
Adds audio muting to the desktop app's browser pane so users can silence or unmute a tab from the overflow menu.
Previously, media playing in a browser pane had no audio toggle in the app UI. Now the pane's ... menu shows Mute tab / Unmute tab, and the mute state persists across reloads.
Exposes setAudioMuted and isAudioMuted on BrowserManager and through the browser tRPC router; the guest webContents is updated and the state re-applied on re-registration.
Adds the menu items to BrowserOverflowMenu.tsx and initializes their state from the router.
Newly opened popups inherit the parent pane's mute state.
Adds Electron, @lingui, and @superset/i18n mocks to scripts/test-preload.ts so headless Bun tests can import those modules.
Written for commit 540490a. Summary will update on new commits.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Mute or unmute audio for a browser pane from its overflow menu while a page is open. The menu shows the pane’s current audio state and updates after a successful change.
A pane’s mute setting is retained when it reloads, and popups inherit the parent pane’s mute setting. Panes are unmuted by default until a mute setting is selected.
Audio mute state can also be checked through the browser’s available controls.
The browser pane adds controls to mute and unmute audio. The browser manager stores mute state per pane and applies it to registered web contents and popups. The test preload adds Electron and localization mocks.

Summary
Mute state and WebContents handling apps/desktop/src/main/lib/browser/browser-manager.ts, apps/desktop/src/main/lib/browser/browser-manager.test.ts
BrowserManager stores mute state per pane and applies it to registered web contents and popups. Tests cover the default state, mute and unmute calls, and applying the stored state to replacement web contents.
The browser router adds a mutation to set a pane’s mute state and a query to read it.
Overflow menu controls apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/hooks/usePaneRegistry/components/BrowserPane/components/BrowserOverflowMenu/BrowserOverflowMenu.tsx
The overflow menu reads the pane’s mute state and adds a page-dependent action to toggle it. The menu updates its displayed state after a successful mutation.

Summary
Headless runtime mocks scripts/test-preload.ts
The preload adds stubs for Electron, Lingui macros, and @superset/i18n. Existing cleanup implementation remains unchanged.

Fix the shared localization mock before merging because it breaks mobile and marketing tests. Audio controls also need corrections for existing popups and replaced panes; retained closed-pane entries have small memory impact.

Clear muted-state entries when a pane closes permanently.
mutedPanes in BrowserManager is written by setAudioMuted and read by isAudioMuted. No code path deletes or clears its entries. unregister and unregisterAll do not remove them, so entries for closed panes stay in the map until the main process exits. Each entry holds a pane ID string and a boolean. Growth is limited to panes the user has muted or unmuted, so the practical impact is small.

Update BrowserManager’s unregister path to delete the closing pane’s entry from
mutedPanes, and update unregisterAll to clear the map when all panes are
removed. Preserve setAudioMuted and isAudioMuted behavior for panes that remain
registered.
Pre-mute the fake so the default-unmuted check can fail.
The fake starts with audioMuted set to false. The first register call therefore cannot show that registration applies false. A change that skips that call would still pass both assertions. Setting wc1.audioMuted = true before register makes the assertion detect the skipped reset. The rest of the test keeps its intended behavior.

setAudioMuted changes only the pane's guest. Popups are never tracked, so a later toggle does not reach them. A popup opened while the pane is muted stays silent after unmute. Scope the mute state to the pane it was read for.
The menu keeps its state when a browser pane is replaced. The layout slot and the Pane instance are reused, so BrowserOverflowMenu receives a new paneId without remounting. The [paneId] effect starts a new query but does not reset isAudioMuted. Until the new response arrives, the label and the value used by handleToggleMute still come from the previous pane. When the two panes differ in mute state, a click in that window can send a muted value that matches the new pane's current state, so the toggle has no effect.
Store the mute value together with the paneId it was read for. Derive the label and the next value only when the stored paneId matches the current pane. Disable the toggle until that value has loaded.

Remove the @superset/i18n mock from the shared preload.
The preload mock exports only i18n. Mobile and marketing test files import initI18n from @superset/i18n, so those files can fail when the mock is active. Desktop avoids this because apps/desktop/test-setup.ts re-mocks the module with the real exports. Move the mock into the setups that need it, or re-export the real module.

Remove the @superset/i18n mock from the shared preload so it does not hide
exports such as initI18n from mobile and marketing tests. If the i18n stub is
still needed, scope it to the setups that require it or preserve the real module
exports while overriding i18n.

What & why
Adds the ability to mute and unmute audio in the desktop application's browser pane via its overflow menu.
Previously, web pages playing media inside a browser pane had no direct audio toggle within the app UI. This change:

Adds audio muting to the desktop app's browser pane so users can silence or unmute a tab from the overflow menu.
Previously, media playing in a browser pane had no audio toggle in the app UI. Now the pane's
...menu shows Mute tab / Unmute tab, and the mute state persists across reloads.setAudioMutedandisAudioMutedonBrowserManagerand through thebrowsertRPC router; the guestwebContentsis updated and the state re-applied on re-registration.BrowserOverflowMenu.tsxand initializes their state from the router.@lingui, and@superset/i18nmocks toscripts/test-preload.tsso headless Bun tests can import those modules.Written for commit 540490a.
