P3: This close-path test never verifies the popup it closes. Assert that popupWc remains muted after unmuting the pane, then separately assert that the still-open popupWc2 is unmuted.

P2: unregister also runs when hidden-webview eviction destroys a guest, not only when the pane closes. Deleting this entry makes the same pane re-register unmuted on its next attach; clear mute state only on permanent pane removal.

Preserve mute state when a hidden webview is evicted.

The renderer evicts hidden webviews beyond its three-webview cap and calls browser.unregister, even though the pane still exists. This deletion makes the pane unmuted when its webview is recreated and registered. A muted pane can therefore play audio after the user returns to it. Separate webview eviction from permanent pane removal, and retain mute state until the pane is removed. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the unregister flow so evicting a webview does not delete its entry from
mutedPanes; clear mute state only when the pane is permanently removed,
preserving mute state when the webview is later recreated and registered.

P2: A completed toggle for the previous pane can overwrite this component’s state after paneId changes. Since pane components are reused during replacement, an old mutation resolving after the new pane’s query leaves isAudioMuteLoaded false and disables Mute/Unmute until another pane switch; guard the mutation result with the current pane or a request generation.

Ignore mutation results from a previous pane.

If a mute mutation for pane A remains pending while the menu switches to pane B, pane B's query can finish first. The mutation then writes pane A's state over pane B's loaded state. The pane-id check disables B's mute action until another pane change triggers a query. Guard mutation completion with the current pane generation, as the query completion already does. Guard the mute mutation completion before calling setAudioMuteState so a result
from a previous pane cannot overwrite the current pane’s state. Reuse the
pane-generation check already used for query completion, and only apply the
result when the generation still matches.
