Re-records every README GIF and screenshot after the move to vt100 0.18 (#170), and fixes the demo tooling that the first take showed was broken.

What changed

  • fix(demo): sessions in recordings now connect. The embedded ssh logs through -E <fifo>, and only an Authenticated to line in that log marks a session connected; until then SSHub drops all keystrokes. The fake demo/bin/ssh still printed its handshake to stderr, so every recorded session stayed on "● connecting" and ignored what the tape typed. The committed snippets.gif shows this. The handshake now goes to the -E log.
  • fix(demo): broadcast works in recordings. Broadcast runs ssh host -- <command>. The fake ssh passed the -- on to bash's eval, which rejected it, so every host failed with exit 2. It now drops the --, as real ssh does.
  • demo/record.py is executable. It was never committed with the executable bit, so just record-gifs failed with "Permission denied".
  • The navigate tape filters on #db AND #prod. These match the two Cloudflare hosts; the old #ci AND #db matched none, so that GIF ended on an empty list.
  • All 8 GIFs and 10 screenshots re-recorded.

How tested

  • just record-gifs: every take ran within 1–2% of its scripted timing.
  • Checked the recordings directly:
    • Session output (uptime, cowsay, uname -a) is present in the recorded output.
    • Broadcast shows exit 0 on all 5 #prod hosts.
    • Frames from every GIF and every screenshot were reviewed by eye.

The embedded ssh logs through `-E <fifo>`, and only an "Authenticated
to" line there marks a session connected; until then it takes no
keystrokes. The fake ssh still printed its handshake to stderr, so
every recorded session stayed "connecting" and dropped what the tape
typed. It now writes to the -E log, and drops the `--` broadcast puts
before the command, which bash's eval rejected.

record.py is now executable, so `just record-gifs` runs it, and the
navigate tape filters on #db AND #prod, which match two hosts, instead
of #ci AND #db, which match none.
Recorded with vt100 0.18 and the fixed demo: sessions connect, typed
commands and snippets run, and broadcast exits 0 on every host.
